Is that option working? With compiz 0.3.0 it worked but fullscreen apps (like Quake 3, Unreal Tournament 2004, ..) didn't get any mouse input then. With compiz 0.5.0 it doesn't seem to have any effect (eg. fullscreen apps are lagging, because of the redirection). AIGLX, NVidia drivers 1.0-9755. I have configured compiz to use 1 workspace and 4 viewports and metacity to use 4 workspaces. When I start compiz while metacity was running it uses 4 workspaces and 4 viewports (ignoring the gconf settings). hi, For compiz ubuntu packages, I made some patchs to have a behavior of compiz nearer to metacity. The window decoration system in compiz is implemented using a decoration plugin and a separate window decoration drawing application (a decorator). The place plugin has a bug: when compiz is restarted or started to replace another wm it the windows are placed in weird positions ( titlebar behind the panel etc.) shouln't the place plugin loop over all open windows and place them correctly when loaded? this should solve this issues. any reason why this isn't done? have I missed something or is this just a bug?

I pushed out some changes to gwd that makes it possible to properly set an overall opacity value for any metacity theme. Making the complete decorations translucent can look bad with some themes. However, I've made it possible to have the opacity fade from opaque to the selected opacity value in a similar way to how the built-in decorations look. This usually looks a lot better. I'll add

Hello, After trying to solve a issue with desktop-effects in fedora (compiz does not let itself to be replaced by metacity). We come to the conclusion that the compiz session management code is broken.
