1.0.alpha4 process creation wierdness
Hi list! I'm a little confused. I have set "login_process_per_connection = yes" and "login_processes_count = 1", and this is how my pstree looks when nobody is connected: dovecot -,- dovecot-auth `- imap-login However, when I connect with a client it looks like this: dovecot -,- dovecot-auth |- imap `- 2*[imap-login] I

Horizontally maximized window on last viewport
Hi, I posted this on the forum as well, but there were no responses to it. I now posting it here just in case anybody cares. Anyway, Compiz is a very nice program. Thanks for all the effort you put into making it. I am using the latest git version of compiz and it really works great for being an "unstable" version. Anyway, I noticed the following strange behavior and was wondering

Compilation failure as of 20060502
Hi, The changes yesterday breaks compilation for me. I do have the latest glproto (1.4.7) and mesa cvs (20050603, i.e. a couple of hours ago) and xgl (20050603) have been recompiled after the updates. Here's the initial error (with a whole lot similar): texture.c: In function 'bindPixmapToTexture': texture.c:196: error: 'GLX_TEXTURE_FORMAT_EXT' undeclared (first use in this

Not an IMAP4 Server?
I've been testing alpha4, and every once in a while my client (Thunderbird 1.5 RC1) tells me the dovecot isn't a valid IMAP4 server. This is usually (maybe always) when I first bring up the client up. If I just ask the client to get the mail again, it does so happily (without any errors). I must say I found dovecot as a pleasant surprise. We have been using UW. Which didn't

Unable to POST after suspend
Hi, I just tried the live CD for CentOS 5.0 on a desktop computer and decided to see if suspend worked. It seems it did, but I'm unable to start the machine again. It's a DIY system with an Asus K8V-X motherboard[1], an AMD Clawhammer 3200+ and 1 GB of Kingston ECC RAM. The system has been perfectly stable despite being utterly abused on a daily basis for almost 3 years. I've tried:

[PATCH] Descriptions for dbus when plugin not loaded
Here is a quick patch for dbus to make it try to load the metadata from a file if the plugin is not loaded. I have tested it and it works fine, but I wanted to check to see if you had something else in mind. -------------- next part -------------- An embedded and charset-unspecified text was scrubbed... Serious Issues with 0.3.6?
Both amgeex (from the forum and wiki) and myself (of the same) are having some rather severe issues with 0.3.6. Both of us built it, and much to our amazement, no matter what we did, something seemed wrong with the Compiz gconf settings. Even after uninstalling Compiz, deleting schemas, reinstalling schemas, reinstalling Compiz 0.3.4, and several other hopeful solutions, we were left with a

compiz-0.3.6-ubuntu woes
Hi again, It seems that this might be related to the decorator issues. Atleast it's bitching about loading the human-style I'm using. It's weirder than that, though, since my desktop seems to be ok-good-to-go (Aside the not working rotate). I mean that decorations seem to be the same as they were earlier. -- Kalle

Fedora 7 and Compiz 0.3.6
Just a quick question, Any ideas why Fedora 7 is still on Compiz 0.3.6? Currently the main repository has 0.3.6 and the development one has 0.4. Shouldn't it be 0.4 for the main and 0.5 for the development? Does 0.4 break anything? -Ioannis

HDT 0.3.6 tests on various systems
Hi Erwan, I finally reviewed the latest HDT 0.3.6 on a few systems (IBM x3650, hs20 and VMware 3.5 guests). = IBM x3650 On the IBM x3650 (using a remote web-based KVM solution) the window blanking (cleaning a window with black before rewriting it with gray/blue content) is very noticable. It would be less of a problem when the window would not be cleared (or at least not with black :-))

Mongrel 0.3.6 -- Win32 Service/Rails Real Good
Hello Folks, This release of Mongrel should make the win32 folks go crazy. Thanks to Luis Lavena it supports a full service system for installing any Rails app as a service. This lets you start your rails apps from either the command line or the Service console. Stopping is still a bit problematic but we hope to have that solved in the next release. You win32 folks should probably send Luis
