rspec-rails render_views doesn't render layouts? / how to check flash isn't rendered
I''m trying to test that "static" pages (they''re ERB, but get cached),
generated through rails, don''t render any stray flash notices left over by
the authentication system (Devise) or wherever else.
I''ve tried writing this controller spec, but it appears that response.body
only renders the template, not its layouts?

Making zh-tw subpages work
Dear Ralph,
Can you remove the following pages, which were incorrectly capitalized
during creation:
* Manuals/ReleaseNotes/Centos5.3/ChineseTW
* Manuals/ReleaseNotes/Centos4.8/ChineseTW
* Manuals/ReleaseNotes/Centos4.7/ChineseTW
In addition, can you enable automatic redirection for non-existent zh-tw
pages? Thanks!

Timothy Lee

CMS-like routing
I''d like to set up routes like /<section>/<article>. Using a route like
map.connect '':section/:article'' works just fine, but I''ve also got an
admin area that is accessed through the route ''admin''.
Inside the admin area I''ve got subpages like admin/sections and
admin/articles. This is conflicting with the other routes

This is very unclear and confusing. You will *always* split THPs when
inflating 4k pages and there are THPs around. This is

CentOS wiki/web changes
Hi,
A few things I would like to see fixed in the short term:
+ Simplifying the frontpage. I gave a rationale on my blog why I think
the frontpage should be more simple an structured. You can see the
proposal here:
http://wiki.centos.org/FrontPageProposal
Ralph already criticized that there is too much text and I tend to
agree. I would prefer to see an image instead and

Database best practices?
I started with rails a few weeks ago and I''ve been very impressed with
the whole framework. My first project after the cookbook was a small
application connecting to Postgres. This was originally a port of an
Access application so I was delighted with the new facilities for
constraint checks, triggers, etc.
As I started to write the front-end though I noticed myself rewriting

Opening of the wiki Part III(?) ...
... which will hopefully be the last part.
Sorry that it took that long, but I didn't have too much time on my
hands over the last two months or so.
This is what should be the last stages of opening up the wiki:
a) I have changed the account creation page:
<http://wiki-m.centos.org/UserPreferences>. Please view that page
while logged out of wiki-m.
b) While doing so I have

css background image not working
Hello,
I''m trying to set the background of a page to an image I have in the
assets/images folder in my rails app.
However, for the life of me I cannot get it to work. When I open up and
inspect the element I keep seeing in the resources that the file cannot be
found with a red "!" next to the image.
I have tried different paths still no avail...

Exception loop. Covered to some extent in:

For some reason, all pages in the Wine Wiki (like the above) is

I don't know why, but I think it might be because all the pages have

delay in utmpx entry when users logs out of samba domain
Hi,
I'm using the system accounting functionallity of
Samba 2.2.6. Everything is working fine and dandy
except that there is a lag between when a user logs
out of a Windos 2000 Domain member, the 'who' command
still lists the user as logged on for the next 20 - 30
seconds.
Does anyone know what causes this? Can I increase the
frequency of utmpx updates? Can someone point me to
