movement backend
Hi
I'm just wondering what the status is on the new movement
architecture that I think David mentioned a few months ago. The point
was to get more predictable and accurate movement in the plugins.
Since the current method recomputes speed and direction every
"timestep". So the movemnt is actually computed on the fly, instead
of having a predetermined path which is

Exporting animation of a series of plots
Hi All,
Thank you in advance for your help.
I made an agent-based model in R and I plot it using image() each
timestep creating a nice animation. I can't seem to find in any of the
R codes a means to export the series of images so that they can be
played as a movie or animation.
Thank you again.

DeSolve Package and Moving Average
Dear all,
I am using the DeSolve Package to simulate a system dynamics model. At the problematic point in the model, I basically want to decide how many products shall be produced to be sold. In order to determine the amount a basic forecasting model of using the average of the last 12 time periods shall be used. My code looks like the following.

Newbie question: Linear regression with error bars.
Hello guys,
I am a total newbie on R, having downloaded it, read the documentation and
started playing with it right now.
My general question is what 'lr' model can be used for doing a linear
regression on points that have a variance associated with them (ie. Monte
Carlo simulation results).
Actually my Data sets look like:

scriptaculous accordion feature - Jump?
Trying the accordion feature as offered at:
http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/accordion+feature
The objective is to remove the "jump" reported in the Rico accordion
feature. My demo of the scriptaculous feature, however has a noticeable jump
when tested if FireFox. and IE Win. See:
http://www.jimdavis.org/accord3.html
Have I implemented this incorrectly?

Writing intermediate analysis to disk
Is there a way to write and analysis to disk and then reconstruct the whole
thing back into an object.
wavCWT() #wmtsa package
I am running out of memory on my computer and I was wondering if there was a
way to iterate through this process (as it is an iterative process anyway-
it just stores the whole thing to memory). Or is there a way to set the
scale that I want to look at so that wavCWT

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau/disp/nv50-: force scaler for any non-default LVDS/eDP modes
Higher layers tend to add a lot of modes not actually in the EDID, such
as the standard DMT modes. Changing this would be extremely intrusive to
everyone, so just force the scaler more often. There are no practical
cases we're aware of where a LVDS/eDP panel has multiple resolutions
exposed, and i915 already does it this way.

Uninstall Adobe Acrobat 7.0
Installed a 30 day trial of Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and I'm now trying to
"properly" uninstall.
I run "uninstaller" and the program shows up in the list of installed
programs. In Uninstaller: click on the program description to highlight
it and then clicking the Uninstall tab causes the hard drive to wobble
about a bit, the program becomes un-highlighted and the uninstaller

Extracting windows from time series
Dear R Users
Thanks for the help in advance and lets get straight to the problem:
I have a 400 year long temperature time series and I am looking for decades that show a linear trend decrease of approximately -0.1 Kelvin or degrees. --> What I would like to program: A loop/function / command line that prints the values of all the trends (can also be overlapping) into a matrix that could have

Compiz 8.6 - suse 11.0 1-2 rows pixilation at top of screen on kbd rotate
Listmates,
This is no biggie, 8.6 is working well so far. However, I do notice 1-2 lines
of pixelization at the top of the screen on keyboard rotate. I know this hasn't
been there since the 0.5.6-0.6 days when compiz was first released for opensuse
years ago. It wasn't there up through 8.2. The gpu is the radeon X1200 using the
fglrx-legacy driver.
Looking at the screenshot it actually

Statistically detecting thresholds...
Rers:
I have some ecological data (stream velocity vs. % cover of submerged
weeds) that shows strong evidence of a thresholding step-function, e.g.
below some velocity, % cover ranges from 0% to 100% (with no apparent
relationship to velocity within this range of velocities), but above a
certain "threshold" velocity, the % cover does not appear to exceed,
say, 10%. There are good

DNAT Question
Hi list,
I have a shorewall installed on 2 interfaces which also has multiple
static public IP. Let''s say I have 1.2.3.4 and 1.2.3.5. I have assigned
nat with:
1.2.3.4 eth0 11.22.33.4 no no
But then I have a situation where I need 11.22.33.44 to connect to a
host in the net zone and appears also to be 1.2.3.5 not only 1.2.3.4.
How to do it? TIA

For loops in R
Hello.
I've just started using R and am trying to figure out if the two codes
snippets below have the same output
gBest<-floor(runif(popsize,min=1,max=top))
velocity[i,j]<<-.4* velocity[i,j] + 1 * runif(1) * (pbestsVar[i,j] -
popVar[i,j]) + 1 * runif(1) * (archiveVar[gBest,j] - popVar[i,j])
and
for (i in 1:popsize) {
for (j in 1:maxvar) {
gBest<-sample(top,size=1)
