Is there QA on Rails gem releases?
The ActionMailer/ActionPack gem release is still screwed up. Does someone test the gem releases to ensure that they work? Just an idea. Wes -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

use object within rda file in for loop
Dear users, I would like to process all the lists from all *.rda files that I have in one folder. Up to now, I can load all the *.rda files without any problem. The problem is when I want to access the list saved within each *.rda file (only one list per rda file). Here is my code: fpath <- "D:/R" listnames <- list.files(path=fpath, pattern=glob2rx("*.rda"),

how "big" (in RAM and/or disk storage) is each of these objects in a list?
Greetings, friends (and others :) ) We generated a bunch of results and saved them in an RData file. We can open, use, all is well, except that the size of the saved file is quite a bit larger than we expected. I suspect there's something floating about in there that one of the packages we are using puts in, such as a spare copy of a data frame that is saved in some subtle way that has

Stream rubyzip
I have a Rails app that needs to create a Zip archive of a folder and send it to the client''s browser for download. I have no need for the Zip file on disk, so ideally, the Zip is created and streamed "on the fly". Is this possible? If not, I''ll create a temp file and send that via xsendfile, but I''d rather avoid the extra (unnecessary) step if I could. --
