I''ve got User has_one Shop. Rails is not validating when I tried create_shop or build_shop, neither in the browser nor the rails console. Building PHP PECL modules
I'm attempting to build some PECL modules on fully updated CentOS 4.2 system. Preferably pack them into nice RPM packages. However, seems I'm missing something. For example, this is what I get for sqlite module: $ pear makerpm SQLite-1.0.3.tgz `phpize' failed The php-devel package is installed (so I do have phpize command). It's just that it is failing. If I unpack the

has_one / HABTM relationship overlap - please advise
1. I have a few tables: ''users'', ''shops'', ''addresses'', and ''pictures''. 2. Users and Shops will both use the addresses and pictures tables. Linux CD Stores
HI All, It seems that the days of ordering burned CD's of distros has faded. People just have fast internet now. I recall a number of times that I ordered Slackware CD's or others because it was just easier than downloading and burning myself. I am actually planning on ordering CentOS 5.4 media when available to support the project. Does anyone think these store make any money?

Hi all, I have a data.frame I received with data that look like this (comma separated strings in last row): ID Shop Items ID1 A1 item1, item2, item3 ID2 A2 item4, item5 ID3 A1 item1, item3, item4 But I would like to unbind the strings in col(2) items so that it will look like this: ID Shop Items ID1 A1 item1 ID1 A1 item2 ID1 A1 item3 ID2 A2 item4 ID2 A2 item5 ID3 A1 item1 ID3 A1 item3 ID3 A1

Managing migrations
I have a migration "x" that when it runs self.up it adds a new column to a table, and of course when self. down is run it deletes said table... After I ran this migration I continued to work and in the process added a couple other migrations. After a while I realized that the column migration "x" created was a mistake and I no longer need it. So I ran rake db:migrate:down

Monkey patching a gem (rails_admin, with Rails 3)
Hi. I''m trying to monkey patch the rails_admin gem. First, I tried to add a file in config/initializers containing: RailsAdmin::MainController.class_eval do def get_sort_hash CODE HERE... end end It was only loaded once, and then the method from the gem was always executed instead of mine. I also tried to add the code in lib/ with the correct line in config/application.rb to load

Centralion Blazer 2000VA USB-HID
Hi again, I've succeeded in compiling the svn trunk with the automake tools and wish to say thank you to Charles Lepple for his help. After fixing some parameters in the hotplug script I can now get access to the UPS on /dev/usb/hiddev0 (I added productid and vendorid of my ups to the usermap). I've decided to try the newhidups driver with -x generic parameter and got this response :

For example in the view I have: <% for @stop in @stops %> <tr> <td><%= @stop.station.name %></td> <td><%= @stop.time.hour.to_s + '':''

Dovecot w/ MySQL support and CentOS
I am converting a Debian box running Postfix, Courier and MySQL to a CentOS box running Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. I have the Postfix with MySQL support taken care of with the RPM from the centosplus repo. It appears that the stock RPM for Dovecot comes with Postgres, but not MySQL support. It looks like I need to download the source RPM and then rebuild it with MySQL support. Could
