Composite retained drawing protocol
I've recently drafted a rough idea of a composite manager agnostic protocol for leveraging the compositor for retained drawing in a way suitable for highly interactive and flexible applications. It seems to be that for anything like this to be a success it would have to be developed with the support of multiple window managers, and I would appreciate any feedback, ideas, and contributions to

Extension languages and Compiz.
My recent work on Compiz-scheme has brought to my attention several problems preventing a real compiz extension language. Note that when I refer to an extension language, I am not referring to the ability to add plugins in some other languages, but more of something in the vein of emacs lisp. The major problem right now is extension languages are locked in to one plugin and what core exposes.

[PATCH][0.9] Make bool CompWindow::isFocussable Wrappable
Hi, The attached core patch makes the 'isFocussable' getter in CompWindow wrappable. This way, plugins such as winrules can make core's getter function return a different value to the one stored internally without actually having to modify the value. GLX redirection extension
I think that I may have found a potentially useful way out of some problems within the current compositing framework. Basically, the server has information that the compositor would find useful. Of course, I may be wrong ... GLX redirection --------------- The GLX protocol provides GL applications with the contexts and drawables that they require to execute GL. Since the X server is usually in

lightdm + xorg.conf + nvidia driver
Hello CentOS-Community, I have to maintain a server that should be useable with VNC and some software requires to run VirtualGL. Also a nvidia graphic card is installed. After downloading and installing the nvidia driver from nvidias homepage and modifying the xorg.conf as mentioned on the virtualgL-homepage, I am not able to restart lightdm anymore. Lightdm should be running, otherwise
