Hey everybody I just installed RVM. I never had any issues with my OSX''s default Ruby 1.8.7, but for a project I want to work on I need a newer version, specifically 1.9.3-p0. So I installed it. ConnectionNotEstablished when using connection on AR::Base abstract subclass
I''m using AR outside of Rails and calling establish_connection on an ActiveRecord::Base abstract_class subclass (to protect my connection in case anyone else is using AR). It was working just fine with AR 3.0.9, but I recently attempted to upgrade to AR 3.2.2. Now, when I hit a "nested" query from a has_many, I get a ActiveRecord::ConnectionNotEstablished. If I call

Minitest mock or stub methods
Hi I''m building a small library to use in my Rails app which interacts with a 3rd party API. It fetches artists and tracks. So I have: lib/my_lib.rb lib/my_lib/artist.rb lib/my_lib/track.rb To get an artist I do artist = MyLib::Artist.find("Oasis") Which returns an instance of Artist if it finds (via 3rd party API) it or nil otherwise. Then I can call artist.tracks which

Rony 1.9.3-p0 on Rails 2.3.x: the helpers "require" problem
Yes, I know that Rails *2.3.x* is no longer fully supported (this is why I''m posting it to rails/issues). Still, I would like to post the topic so that everyone who experience the same problem could quickly google for it (no, afaik no solution for this yet). I''m trying to migrate a 1.5 years *2.3.x* app from Ruby version *1.8.7* to * 1.9.3-p0*. The strange problem I

Make for Ruby 1.9.3 results in "cc1: out of memory allocating X bytes after a total of Y bytes"
I am unable to install RoR on a VPS running RedHat Linux with 512 MB. When I run "make" and "make install" I get the following output/error below. What can I do to resolve this memory problem? It appears I should have sufficient memory to install. I included the results of "make" and "free" to show the failure as well as the available memory. Thanks
