--skip-gl-yield
Beryl has a --skip-gl-yield ( I think now managed by --force-nvidia, dont really know though), that eases the use of beryl under heavy CPU load. Is this implemented in compiz? Cause compiz is _REALLY_ slow under heavy cpu use for me. Thanks, Joel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Problems with Speex Resamplers
How much latency are we talking about? It seems that this issue cannot be easily pinpointed, but if it turns out to be related to the Speex Resampler let me know and I will put it on my task list. - Sherief -----Original Message----- From: speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org [mailto:speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org] On Behalf Of Colin Guthrie Sent: Monday, December 06, 2010 9:47 AM To: speex-dev at

Problems with Speex Resamplers
If you can produce a simple minimal repro that exhibits this issue on some procedural signal (sine wave, etc) I'd love to look into it some more - I'm maintaining a hardened version of the Speex Resampler and would be very concerned if this bug made it into production. - Sherief -----Original Message----- From: speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org [mailto:speex-dev-bounces at xiph.org] On

Problems with Speex Resamplers
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let people know that we've uncovered some problems with the speex resamplers in PulseAudio The problem generally manifests itself when having the following setup. * Server Sample Rate: 44100 * Resampler: speex-* (both fixed and float) * Playing a 48000 stream The problem only really manifests itself in the first 500ms or so of the stream and then generally

compiz/gl-x crashes my games!
I'm running Mandriva 2007 and like the eye candy of of the 3d desktop but wine is more important to me. Whenever I start with with the 3d desktop turned on though any 3d games I have will either crash or report that I don't have a 3d card. Is there any way round this or am I to be denied the pleasure of the wibbly wobbly windows?

Problems with Speex Resamplers
Colin, If you're using stereo audio with the resampler, there is a bug that can occur under certain situations (and maybe that's what's been happening to you). Check out: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/speex-dev/2009-August/007406.html With that patch, I've used the resampler extensively in many situations without any problems. Reviving compiz.org - quest for information
compiz.org hasn't been updated properly in almost half a decade, and there's a lot of misleading or downright wrong information out there right now. There's a launchpad ticket on it [1], but the subject isn't quite covered by a simple bug as it stands. First thing first: Compiz has been using version 0.9 for almost half a decade, and clearly deviated from past conventions of

CompComm has a real name!
Our previous attempts to select a project name for CompComm have not gone well. We tried a poll but the names in the poll were not pre-qualified to determine if they were usable and the ?winning? name was also a strongly disliked name. Kristian and I each proposed a plan to select a name, but that effort got sidetracked by a massive flame war on the mailing list. While our community has some

0.8-based Compiz work
For the last few weeks I've been fiddling with the 0.8 code-base, mostly because compiz got nuked in my distro and I had to do something, if for no other reason than to have a running WM. You can find my work at: https://github.com/KristianLyng/compiz (I'm also tracking issues there) I've done what I felt like doing, some of which would've been controversial/problematic 5 years

[ANNOUNCE] Compiz feature branch compiz++
Hi, I've currently pushed a new branch called "compiz++" to the freedesktop repository, with some features I've been working on during last months. Because most of the features also require (BIG) changes to the plugins, I've decided to put them all together. - No direct access to member variables: Everything is now done with getter and setter functions. This helps with
