Multihead related issues
First, there are two fundamentally diffrent types of doing multihead: The "one big screen" solution, usually achieved with xinerama , twinview or similar. This provides us with one Screen, and therefor one CompScreen structure. The output extens are retrieved from xinerama, or possibly randr (in the future?), I would assume. Then there is the less used "multiscreen" way, which

multiscreen
I'm wondering what the status of multiscreen support is supposed to be in 0.9.7.12. Using Ubuntu Precise, it seems that compiz only manages 1 screen and if you want compiz on both screens of a dual screen set up you need to start two compiz sessions as such: $ DISPLAY=:0.0 compiz --replace $ DISPLAY=:0.1 compiz --replace What makes this all so strange is that even when one starts only the

Extensible logging framework
Attached is a quick patch which adds a logging framework to compiz. I think it should be fairly self explanitory. I think it should allow plugin writers to extend it for any purpose, but I would appreciate any feedback or comments before going any further. Looking for a script to add/remove multiple shares from smb.conf
Has anyone ever written a script to remove individual shares from the smb.conf file? I am trying to put together a script that will add & remove multiple shares at once by giving a <sharelist as input to the script. Adding shares is easy because I can just append the shares to the smb.conf file, but removing individual share entries within the smb.conf file without messing up the

Tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (2nd try)
Hi all together, all answers to my first posting didn't help to solve my problem. Maybe this can help you. When I'm doing: smbclient -L MYLINUX -U MYUSER I get the following message: Added interface ip=195.90.254.xxx broadcast=295.90.254.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Password: <enter password for myuser> Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.5a] Tree connect failed: ERRSRV -

SMB3.11 and receiving NT_STATUS_SMB_BAD_CLUSTER_DIALECT
We have the situation where we are trying to send to a server that has a cluster configuration. When we negotiate, it tells us to talk 3.11. When we actually try to send the file, the share's max protocol is actually only 3.02 and so the Microsoft server sends a NT_STATUS_SMB_BAD_CLUSTER_DIALECT, which means they expect the client to reconnect negotiating only 3.02 as max protocol. Looking

Zoom plugin changes
I'm sorry for being rude, but I am quite upset by this, because it has gone too far. I posted a few weeks ago that I was going to be working on zoom over the summer to improve the accessibility, and I have already begun to do that. Every step of the way I have made frequent commits to opencompositing.org and described the progress in my blog. I asked for information about what your (David)

Is it possible to get pixmaps of minimized windows? I don't want to use ugly hacks like "temp unminimize" just to get it. Stjepan

Bigscreen multihead issues [URGENT]
At the moment, Compiz draws each head at a time, shifting the glViewport() for every head in a xinerama-like setup. However, the projection matrix is NOT adjusted. This means any translation along the z-axis will cause problems and any rotation along the x/y axis, because the projection matrix is centered around the viewport, not the actual X screen as it has to be to keep the scenery together. CentOS 7 installer not seeing SATA disks
I am having trouble with the CentOS 7 installer recognizing SATA hard disks on a Core 2 motherboard. Yesterday I was installing CentOS 7 on a core 2 test computer (rather old machine). The computer had two SATA drives but the installer did not allow me to select them, even to repartition them. During install, I was able to manually run fdisk and sfdisk by accessing a multiscreen using

Problems with Steam Games (possible others?)
Hello, I've tried a few Steam games, and played them for a bit, but I have a few problems: 1) Because I run dual monitors, normal full screen games will not work. Furthermore, full screen games with a virtual desktop go in a 800x600 window and will not resize, so I have to play the games in a window in a virtual desktop. This is relatively minor and I can live with it, but it anyone has a

blur plugin and GL_ARB_fragment_program extension
The blur plugin has GL_ARB_fragment_program extension as a prerequisite. At least that's what I'm getting by looking at screen.c. I think there should be a check for the "CompScreen::fragmentProgram" flag somewhere in blur.c to prevent it from loading or at least executing a <null> pointer. I get a crash in line blur.c:1858, because CompScreen::programEnvParameter4f

[PATCH] Edge buttons
Here are my patches to add edge + button functionality. I still feel that there is a problem with gconf, but I have just made it so that the edge button functionality works. I have included a patch for gconf to display AnyButton if it is set to 0. There is also a patch to make the edge size configurable because 1 pixel was too small and the mouse keeps slipping off when using it for the
