Fullscreen windows(videos) and Compiz
I worte in my last mail that when I ue compiz git fullscreen videos are no
longer ontop of the gnome-panel...
that means that the gnome-panel is still visible while playing the video in
fullscreen. The commit which I said may caused it has nothing to do with it
compiz does not build if I revert it).
again with older compiz and metacity it works fine. (now I am running

Compiz and Beryl are Reuniting
After several weeks of discussion the leaders of Compiz and Beryl have agreed
that the two communities shall reunite. This decision is supported by both
David and Quinn and represents the majority decision of the administrators
and developers in each community. At this early stage not a lot has been
decided, but these are the main points of the agreement:
- As had previously been decided,

Fedora 7 and Compiz 0.3.6
Just a quick question,
Any ideas why Fedora 7 is still on Compiz 0.3.6?
Currently the main repository has 0.3.6 and the development one has 0.4.
Shouldn't it be 0.4 for the main and 0.5 for the development? Does 0.4
break anything?

state plugin
hi,
I saw that Mike Dransfield tried to port 'state' plugin from beryl.
What does it do? It should be able to place windows, based on name,
class etc., to specific viewports. I recently converted to compiz window
manager from WindowMaker (used it for 8 years), and I miss automatic
'pinning' of specific windows to particular workspace (or viewport in
this case).
Mike's

switch metacity->compiz (compiz ignores its own settings)
I have configured compiz to use 1 workspace and 4 viewports and metacity
to use 4 workspaces.
When I start compiz while metacity was running it uses 4 workspaces and
4 viewports (ignoring the gconf settings).
When I restart X so that compiz is started before metacity this does not
happen (it uses what its configured for).
bug or feature?
if feature can it be disabled?

A few more bugs...
Hello,
I found a couple bugs concerning my favourite Shade/Unshade function.
1) Sometimes the shaded window gets more space than it should and, of course, nobody takes care about it, so everything
drawn on this space remains here. If I move a decorated window along, its shadow cummulates quickly to full black here.
Unfortunately, I don't know any reliable way how to reproduce this. (But it

Random freezes when using compiz
Hello. Today I have experienced a strange freeze. I was writing an email
when suddenly the system stopped responding. The cursor was still
blinking and it was possible to move the mouse, but the system was not
responding. no ctrl-alt-fx or killing X.
I am running compiz 0.3.6 under Fedora Core 6 and nvidia 1.0-9631
driver. Cheers.

Drawing artefacts after suspend to ram
Hi,
I'm bitten by a bug that is also in the Debian BTS, so I'm not sure you
are aware of it. I couldn't find it in the fdo BTS. Anyway the problem is simple.
After a successful suspend and resume all window decorations (the
places where the shadow was supposed to be, but also the titlebars) are
much to colorful (meaning it has some random colors in it).
Moving the windows brings the

IMPORTANT : Regression since kernel > 3.4 as regards suspend to RAM while using 3D accel
Hello,
Been wondering why I could never resume from s2r. That's because I always
use 3D accel (compiz, cairo-dock). I have tested each Arch kernel releases,
hoping each time to get s2r to work.
Tired of this, I decided to use 3.4 LTS... 3.4.50
... And guess what ? I could resume from suspend to RAM 100% of the time !!!
I know it may be a hard work for you, but suspend to RAM while using 3D

compiz-0.3.6-ubuntu woes
Hi again,
It seems that this might be related to the decorator issues. Atleast
it's bitching about loading the human-style I'm using.
It's weirder than that, though, since my desktop seems to be
ok-good-to-go (Aside the not working rotate). I mean that decorations
seem to be the same as they were earlier.

compiz 0.3.6 in fedora rawhide
Hi,
I've just updated compiz in fedora rawhide and wanted to post a quick
overview of the patches we still carry. Patch details are available
here:
http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/rpms/compiz/devel
terminate-move.patch
restart.patch
These are already upstream, but not yet in a released version.
aiglx-defaults.patch
tfp-server-extension.patch
These two paper over a problem in

CompComm has a real name!
Our previous attempts to select a project name for CompComm have not gone
well. We tried a poll but the names in the poll were not pre-qualified to
determine if they were usable and the ?winning? name was also a strongly
disliked name. Kristian and I each proposed a plan to select a name, but that
effort got sidetracked by a massive flame war on the mailing list.
