Wish List: has_many :dependent => {}
I am after a nice way to disable (not destroy, delete nor nullify) all associated records. I''m a hoarder, I don''t want to get rid of anything but I want to stop records being visible. I have a disabled boolean in my tables and if I disable the top record in the association (say the association is 5-6 levels deep), I would like to cleanly disable its children. I''ve

datetime_select and in_time_zone?
I''m working with an app for a concert tour website (www.yogabbagabbalive.com), where all times (announcement times, on-sale start times, and event start times) are local to each particular venue''s time zone. I take the user entered date/time where applicable and run a before_filter to set the appropriate time zone so that everything is stored in the database in UTC. For the

Destroy, dependent and performance
Hi! This is my first post in this forum. I''m learning RoR for two weeks and I''m very interested about how to improve this framework. I was testing one app I''m working in and I had some problems with destroying. The code is simple (and maybe wrong, as I said i''m just learning!). When you destroy a league, you send a message to all the users associated to this

UDP hole punching and invitations
Hi, I read about the invitation protocol that will be introduced in 1.1pre8. Is there any mechanism of UDP hole punching to establish a VPN behind NAT? 10th anniversary of tinc 1.0
Hello everyone, Today is exactly 10 years ago that tinc 1.0 was released. I would have hoped to celebrate this by releasing 1.0.22 and 1.1pre8 today, but this will instead happen in one week. Tinc 1.1 is close to becoming stable, and I hope to release 1.1.0 before the end of the year. The main features of tinc 1.1 are the improved security over tinc 1.0, and a much nicer interface that makes it

undefined method `generate_token'
Hi Everyone... I''m following a railscast episode on how to implement an invitation feature. If they have, the invitation is not

Comparing polymorphic property to same object fails
I''ve got a polymorphic association on one table. I assign to it in the controller. This is handling invitations of users to tasks in a task management application. If the user issuing the invitation is the user being invited (ie the user assigned themselves to a task), I want to activate the invitation immediately in the model. The trouble is that this: if self.assignable ==

Dear All, We are trying the Tinc invites to let nodes join the network. This is working as described but we want to push some configuration for some nodes but this seemed not to be working.
