Mini-Compiz on Miniature Linux/OpenGL (embedded 3D window system)
hi, my goal is to produce (for start) really tiny and simple Compiz-like "window manager", the main concern is size and speed... and by size i mean very tiny:1-2MB since everyone is probably laughing (id be too, few months ago), i might start by showing its possible, actually there is already complete WORKING development environment for it... thanks to SciTech drivers it can run

hi, anyone knows whats going on with that Khronos group, OpenGL ES and stuff.. im quite confused as when/why/how did that come to be, but more importantly - do we have any use of it on Linux with desktop architectures.. 1.) can OpenGL ES be used on PC, x86 platform? emulator maybe? 2.) is OpenGL ES just a specification or are there some drivers for some hardware, some ATI mobilty cards maybe

GoForce 5500 Driver in Toshiba Portege G900
Hello, community. Several months ago Toshiba Inc. released a new communicator - "Toshiba Portege G900". All device's features are greate, but in practice things are going another way: communicator is really SLOW. Toshiba users have found that G900 is using nVidia GoForce 5500 Chip in it and it seems like it's working partially, because of an incomplete driver. We have written a

Our community (portegeclub.ru) was sent request for help writing wm5 drivers on g900. (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/nouveau/2008-April/001390.html). Answer was - no. But situation was changed - can you help our community in writing GF5500 drivers for linux? If you want i can pay for this work (no to much, i'm a student) and test dev code on my device. BigFatThanks for any answer of

R-2.0.0 on ARM (Sharp Zaurus)
Hi All, I've recently dusted off my cross-compiling hat and decided to add R to the OpenEmbedded build environment (this is used to build the OpenZaurus/Familiar distributions for the Zaurus/iPAQ amongst other things - I note there's also work underway to add the Psion 5mx etc. to OpenEmbedded). OpenEmbedded builds now use -soft-float which makes floating point operations something like

I think TrollTech deserves a prize for their accomplishment in making qmake even worse than autotools (I'm using it for something else and wish I wasn't -- Qt itself is fine though). I've heard good things about

[Rpm/Yum - Enabled Exception Qt]
Hi all, I am trying to install the packages of Qt/Trolltech by "yum", but the Qt comes without the support of exceptions, it possible enable that? I do not want to compile the Qt manually! Best regards, edm. -- Ederson de Moura "Your mind is like a parachute: it works better when open."

New Vorbis player app
I've written an Ogg Vorbis (only !) player, which some may like to play with. It works for me (tm) and I like it. If you don't, well, you know what you can do with it ;) I leave it running 24/7 and it plays my music without problems and without annoying me. That's all it's for, really. You can get it from http://www.geoid.clara.net/rik/arch/squelch.tar.gz The README follows ...

Re: [iPAQ] Ogg Vorbis fixed-point math anyone ?
Actually, we have a integerized version of the vorbis libraries that are available, royalty free, with a simple attribution requirement. These libraries are 100% C code and run faster than real time on a cirrus 7312-74mhz processor (arm core). My guess is they should run at about 20-30% cpu utilization on a strongarm/200. Monty has this same code, but his version doesn't play b4 content real

[LLVMdev] MASM Backend
Hi LLVM'ers, has anyone read the license details for MASM32 and understood how these fit in with Open Source projects, especially GPL? - As far as I can see - no one is allowed to license projects under GPL or at worst other OS licenses nor the deritives of the project, if you're using MASM32. Are the MASM backend compatible with the MS version of MASM or other not so license

[PATCH] Add Visual Studio 2008 Prject files
Something to look into perhaps is Trolltech's 'qmake' tool. It fills the role of something like autotools or now defunct imake. As far as I understand, you can indeed use it for projects that don't do anything with the Qt libraries. Now, it may not have the support for multiple targets that it sounds like are needed for speex, and I know it doesn't have as comprehensive of
