Has Many Through + Join Model + Forms + Confused?
Hello,
I''m trying to implement something like the following scenario. I''ve got
"Alloys" (blends of metals), "Metals" and "Percentages" I want to implement
this using a join model, not using a has_and_belongs_to_many relationship.
(If i''m wrong about that, let me know).
Basically, i have the following tables:
Metals
id
name
Alloys

Greek simbols in dialogs.
The problem is ... strange. When I'm using programs such as "Tottal commander", "Free commander", installing "hidden and dangerous deluxe" (free), letters in dialogs becomes Greek instead of Latin (you know those strange symbols from math formulas). So I don't understand what is written. How can I solve this?

How to create a sprintf call in IR
Hi,
I created a global char array, char buffer[1024]. I want to call a function
to append the string information to the buffer repeatedly. For example, I
need to implement the following code, where length, a, b, c, are global
variables.
int length = 0;
length += sprintf(buffer+length, "str%d", a);
length += sprintf(buffer+length, "str%c", b);
length += sprintf(buffer+length,

Protect from forgery for Rest destroy action ???
Hi !!
I''m reading the rails guides about security, i had a question about the
forgery protection
If we consider a standard Restful resource ( generated with scaffold for
example ), the update and create actions are protected from forgery
attacks thanks to the authenticity token, but what about the destroy
method ??

Nested forms, dynamic elements and valid xhtml/DOM ids
Hi,
I would like to know if anyone has been able to implement correctly 2.3
nested forms and create dynamically (javascript) a bunch of nested
elements with their correct DOM ids.
I''ve seen Complex forms Railcasts but they use pre-2.3 nested forms.
I''ve seen Alloy solution but it is not working properly to me. When
creating more than two lines dynamically the id is repeated.

file_column
Restricting size of an uploaded file, is how is that possible? If I
do not want a user to upload a file larger than X bytes, can it
easily be done?
If I also would like restrict the types of files that can be
uploaded, how may I do so?
Thank you,
Sharkie
