Feature Request: Viewport Switching Plugin
Hi,
First of all, great job! :)
I really like to organise my work on, former known "workspaces", now
"viewports". I use currently use 9 so I have 3 for work, 3 for private
applications and 3 for other projects.
Using the viewports like this it happens to have
3 browser windows,
6 Document Viewers,
9 Terminals,
1 Evolution,
2 IDEs and

New viewport switcher plugin
Hi,
We've (Soeren Sandmann, really) have written a new plugin that pans
the viewport around a planar workspace instead of the cube. It's a
more toned down transition effect and is more similar to the metacity
workspace model. There's two parts to this patch: one part prepares
the compiz core for workspace that's more than one viewport high, and
the second part is the

putting to viewport in 0.9's Put plugin
Hi,
It doesn't look to me like the Put plugin commands for putting to a viewport
are wired up at the moment. There are also some widths and heights
transposed. After this patch everything works for me.
Thanks,
Jay

Horizontally maximized window on last viewport
Hi,
I posted this on the forum as well, but there were no responses to it. I
now posting it here just in case anybody cares.
Anyway, Compiz is a very nice program. Thanks for all the effort you put
into making it.
I am using the latest git version of compiz and it really works great
for being an "unstable" version.
Anyway, I noticed the following strange behavior and was wondering

Bug in viewport handling?
Hi,
Is the following an (unknown) bug? Rhythmbox (RB) has an option for
using a icon-tray. Restoring/minimizing to the tray in combination with
switching viewports (VP) seems to confuse compiz.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start RB on VP1.
2. Minimize to tray.
3. Change to VP2.
4. Click the tray icon to restore.
Result: RB is restored to VP2, while compiz changes to VP1. Subsequent
clicking on the

[Request]Shortcuts to move a window to another viewport with plane plugin
Hello,
i switched from using rotate+cube to plane as i like it better ( No more
headaches caused by cube spinnings ! ).
But i noticed that it is not possible to move a window to another
viewport using the keyboard and i miss it quite a lot.
So i thought it was a good idea to ask for it here.
i don't really have time right now to do it myself but i'll give it a
try sometime later if no

state plugin
hi,
I saw that Mike Dransfield tried to port 'state' plugin from beryl.
What does it do? It should be able to place windows, based on name,
class etc., to specific viewports. I recently converted to compiz window
manager from WindowMaker (used it for 8 years), and I miss automatic
'pinning' of specific windows to particular workspace (or viewport in
this case).

roll wheel on desktop to switch viewport
Hi. After some time using Quinn's Compiz I returned to Vanilla, which is
more stable to me. There's a feature I do miss from Quinn's package,
though, and it's the ability to change viewports by rolling the mouse
wheel over the desktop.
Would it be possible to mimic that behavior in Vanilla? Thanks in
advance.

Plugins
Here are a few plugins I wrote.
The put plugins gives you bindings to move windows around.
I set it up so the numeric keypad is like the area of the screen.
So <Super>KP_Home will move the window to the top left, etc ...
It also does viewport moves which is handy when used with the plane
plugin. I like the plane plugin in a 3x3 matrix matching the keypad, so
with the keypad and some

weird behavior with tasklist/viewports
Hello,
I am using compiz from git (20070207). And I have a problem thats not so
easy to reproduce:
(note this is happening for a long time now duno when it started but I
never saw it with 0.0.13 which was in fc6 by default).
Sometimes a window is always shown in the tasklist no matter on which
viewport I am now. clicking on it moves to the viewport where the window
acctually is. This does not

Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out!
Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out!
This is the first development release of Compiz Fusion, the result of more
than six months of work and polish. The first stable release, 0.6.0, will
follow after the Compiz 0.6.0 release.
Compiz Fusion is the result of a merge between the Compiz community plugin
set "Compiz Extras" and the parts of the Beryl project that are independent

Scale-plugin for ALL running Aplications
I have just switched from Beryl to compiz, as it seems to be much more
stable. The only think, that I'm missing is, that scale just shows the
open applications of the current viewport instead of all on all
viewports. Is there an option in gconf I can tick to enable this or is
it simply not implemented ans only a hack in beryl-scale?

grid(Base): How to avoid "Figure region too small and/or viewport too large" by specifying 'relative' units?
Dear grid-expeRts,
The goal:
I would like to construct a plot (matrix) with grid and gridBase,
which consists of four "sub-plots". The sub-plots should have a square plotting
region as one would force with par(pty="s") in base graphics.
The problem:
I don't get a square plotting region, not even by specifying
pty="s" in par(). Indeed, if you display the grid

Place of Django template tags inside of ext3.0 viewport panels
Hello,
Does anyone know where I can find information on using ext3 with Django.
Specifically, I want to place Django template tags inside of a
particular panel in my ext3 viewport... I have tried what is seen below,
but it doesn't seem to work..
var viewport=new Ext.Panel({
layout: 'border',
width:1200,
height:650,
renderTo: Ext.getBody(),

Focus behavior
Hi all fellow compiz'es
I am using compiz-0.5.2. I have disabled "Click to focus". Generally, I
like the way compiz handles focus of windows. I have one outstanding
issue though:
Suppose I have different viewports and two windows in the first that are
placed next to each other. I then switch to the second viewport. For
some reason I now wish activate the left-most window on the

Cube rotation
Hi,
First of all I would like to say that I love the work you are doing.
Xgl/compiz is a great project! I really appreciate what you are doing :)
However, there is one feature that I'm missing, or rather the possibility to
disable another feature. I would like to be able to use multiple viewports,
but I don't want the rotation animation. Sure, rotating the desktop to
switch viewport is

Maximized windows dissappear
Hi,
I am using the lastest git version of compiz and just run in to a new
problem after switching to using the ini configuration plugin over the
gconf-one. When I maximize a window and then try to move it to another
viewport, the cube rotates but the maximized window disappears instead
of moving along to the new viewport. The maximized window can be found
using the scale plugin (only on show-all
