My ajax stopped working when I switched to using respond_with. For my Votes, I have the create action and the corresponding create.js.erb, and respond_to :html, :js, :xml in the controller. Where did UJS go? UJS vs. RJS
I have not been able to access the UJS site, http://www.ujs4rails.com/ for two days. Does that mean there are problems or that it has been incorporated into Rails core? In general, what do you think of using UJS instead of RJS? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google

jQuery Users...
Any jQuery users out there? I would like to learn more about incorporating jQuery with Rails as the performance seems to be the best of any library I''ve seen and it is great in separating the JScript from the HTML. Any suggestions on where to get started? I''ve read this (http://b.lesseverything.com/2006/12/31/making-jquery-and- prototype-play-nice-in-rails) but was looking into

UJS for rails plugin Installation problems
Hello, I downloaded and installed the latest UJS plugin. I first got the error "uninitialized constant UJS" and this error wouldn''t go away no matter where I place the "UJS::routes" line in the routes.rb file. The only way I found to get rid of this error is to run "rake tmp:sessions:clear" but then I get another error which is "can''t convert

Rail3: UJS submit after client-side validation
I am have some problems with UJS. I have a (potentially) large form that I was doing client side validation on (yes there is also some server side validation) using an old prototype validation routine that is not working with the current version. I actually got validation to work by coping and modifying some of the rail.js routine to observer submit. I also had some javascript toggles that I got

render :update do |page|
I was wondering if anyone knew how to do the rails equivalent of render :update do |page| It looked like maybe render_inline would do. If that''s it - does anyone have an example? Has anyone ported the scriptaculous helpers to a merb plugin yet? Also - is there anyway to search the mailing list archives? Sorry for the newb questions. Looks like a great framework though! -ben

Rails and UJS guide - not having much luck
I refered to http://railsdog.com/blog/2011/02/28/callbacks-in-jquery-ujs-in-rails3/ in hope of getting json data from my controller and displaying it in my view when an ajax request is made. I followed the instructions on the http://railsdog.com/blog/2011/02/28/callbacks-in-jquery-ujs-in-rails3/ and even corresponded with the author and also implemented his ''fix'' in

Converting observe_field to UJS in Rails 3
I am trying to rewrite my website in Rails 3 and Ruby 1.9.2. Can some one help me convert my observe_field which is working under Rails 2.3.5 to Rails 3. I would like to avoid using JQuery as over the last year everything I have tried in JQuery has failed, including this one. Perhaps due to my lack of knowledge. I would not like to install the legacy upgrade. What I have in my website is several

How to fire Ajax call from Form_for
I am learning Rails 3 and need some help on Ajax part. I am trying to accomplish the following: There is a textarea on the page which has a length of letters constraint, say 100. Every time a symbol is typed there,a nearby label tells you how many letters you have left. I plan to use Ajax to do this. I googled for a few hours and could not figure out how to do this. So far what I have done is

jquery, format.js and IE
I''m trying to use jQuery to write all my js unobtrusively, and running into a bit of a problem when triggering the format.js block in IE6 (and possibly IE7). It returns the JSON string no problem, but instead of parsing it, IE6 asks to download the resource as a .js file. So if my url is ''/pictures/1.js'', IE6 will ask to save or run ''1.js'' I did do
