Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
Hi,
The problem the other way around:
IceS -> IceCast -> ShoutCast -> KiSS
(the KiSS then decodes the mp3 to a RAW SPDIF stream, which is received
by my sourround receiver).
But the constallation is somewhat overkill and slightly unstable, so I would
prefer just
IceS -> IceCast -> KiSS
But that does not work at all for unknown reasons (since shoutcast can do
this, and the

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
I have successfully set up a system with Ices0.4 and IceCast2.20 (and
Tunez). It plays well using mpg123 or WinAmp.
But I would like to use also my KiSS DVD player for the stream, and I have
not been able to do so - It appearently needs 110% SHOUTcast
compatibility.
So I tried the IceCast2.3.1 - but it still didn't like the KiSS (or the
other way around). In stead, I have added a SHOUTcast

Ices0 and ShoutCast (and KiSS)
THAT was it!
Both ones work, so I think I'll stick to the last one.
Now the KiSS will connect to the IceCast2, and I have enabled the metadata
again without problem.
Thank you very much!

Is it able to obtain performance metrics from puppet master?
Hello
Is it able to obtain performance metrics from puppet master ( or puppet
dashboard ) ?
I intend to use this metrics in external monitoring system.
Of particular interest are the following metrics:
* list of agents
* time since the certain agent last apply manifest ( to find stuck agents )

R crashes on Repeated ODBC Queries
Hi,
I've been up all night trying to get the following to work.
First here is the setup. I have a P4 1G mem running WinXP SP2, R 2.0.1
patched 2005-01-15, MySQL 4.1.7 and MyODBC 3.51.
I've been pulling data from MySQL using the code at the end of the post,
where start.date and end.date are chron objects and auction.type is a
string. I've been rushed so the code, especially the

Scheduled workers only run once unless you call self.delete inside the worker

This worker posts an auction to eBay from a queue of auctions every minute.
I was having a problem where the worker would run ok the first time, but

code-metrics for ruby (on rails)
I''m searching for code analysing tools for Ruby (on Rails). I know
some tools for Java and DotNet but I can''t seem to find much for Ruby.
Things I''m interested in are metrics like coupling (fan-in, fan-out),
complexity (McCabe), inheritance nesting levels etc.
The only tools I found so far are saikuro(only mccabe) and kwala
(seems like a frontend for saikuro)

Is /etc/rc.conf exclusively C7 ? Can't find it on C5 and C6.

KISS networking with CentOS 7
Hi,
I'm currently experimenting with CentOS 7 on a couple of installations.
I'm reasonably proficient with CentOS 5.x and 6.x.
I'd like to manage networking using a more traditional approach (Keep It
Simple Stupid). Here's what I tried so far, starting from a minimal install:
Install net-tools (to be able to use ifconfig).
Get rid of NetworkManager:
# yum remove

CheckBox and Ruby on Rails
I have two questions:
1. I have a checkbox on a form and after submit I need to check the
status of the checkbox. Any idea how to see what the checkbox is set
to? I am assuming this must be done in the controller or model but
cannot figure it out.
2. On load I am checking for a cookie and need to determine if the
checkbox should be checked or unchecked. Is there a way for me to do

Test for trend?
Hello R community,
I would like to test for learning effects by subjects in my experiment. Each subject participates in six consecutive auction rounds of the same treatment.
The response variable is the efficiency of an auction outcome measured by a real number. Since the efficiency increases over the six rounds, I suppose that subjects learn about the rules of the auction institution, but I
