lanyrd site for useR! 2012
There's now a page on lanyrd ("the social conference directory") for useR! 2012 in Nashville: http://lanyrd.com/2012/useR/ its basically a site for making social mini-networks for conferences, so people can post up links, share photos, list talks, etc. If people going sign up then it'll look a lot better than UseR! 2011, where only three people seemed to have attended - but

Limiting getElementsByClassName to specific nodes and entities
I''m currently using "The Ultimate getElementsByClassName" (http://www.robertnyman.com/2005/11/07/the-ultimate-getelementsbyclassname/) instead of the Prototype version. This version seems to be faster since it lets you specify the starting node and the type of entity. For example: var widgets = getElementsByClassName(document, "ol", "tree"); Is

End of File Error on index optmize
I was optimizing a 650MB using ferret (0.11.3) and I received the following error. I''ve seen some people have similar issues but I haven''t seen any resolutions. The contents of the index directory follow the error. Has anyone seen anything like this and found a resolution? Many thanks. /mnt/apps/search/releases/20070622175637/script/../config/../vendor/

PATCH: better progress reporting
I've been looking at the --progress reporting, which is somewhat improved these days. But look at this output of this evening rawhide mirror update: [...] perl-DB_File-1.75-27.i386.rpm 73430 100% 519.63kB/s 0:00:00 perl-DB_File-1.75-28.99.3.i386.rpm 61783 100% 533.94kB/s 0:00:00 [...] Now, while it's good to have the ETA ticking down as something is fetched,

Say for example I''ve a shop at www.shop.com, and its pure ajax to load in products. Now customer A wants to show a friend a product on the site - giving him the url www.shop.com and telling him to click on a series of links

Combo Box Wdget for Tcl/Tk under R
Hi, I have two questions: First, does anyone know how to put a combobox inside a GUI made with Tcl/Tk ? I think there isn't a simple way to do this (a command like tkcombobox()!), but is it possible to write a more complex code to achieve this ? Second, when I put two listboxes in the same window or frame (even in two different toplevel windows), I cannot select things in the two lists
