Parsing multiple RSS & Atom feed formats
I''m working on a RSS aggregator, and I''ve based the parser on a script from this post; http://www.superwick.com/archives/2007/06/09/rss-feed-parsing-in-ruby-on-rails/ But, being the complete newbie, I''ve found that this parser only works for specifically formatted feeds. For example, some feeds will throw a ''nil text'' error. I know that I could make

FeedValidator :: validating feeds RSS or ATOM
FeedValidator is an interface to the W3C Feed Validation online service, based on its SOAP 1.2 support. It helps to find errors in RSS or ATOM feeds. FeedValidator add a new assertion (assert_valid_feed) which you can use in Rails applications. This assertion implements a cache to improve the performance of the tests and to not abuse of the W3C Feed Validation online service. = Download The

REXML::ParseException - but the feed IS valid
I am using Ruby feedparser and when I try to parse this feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Mobilecrunch I get an error: REXML::ParseException: Declarations can only occur in the doctype declaration. This feed does validate at feedvalidator.org. Any idea why it would raise an exception? Thanks, eduard -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

undefined method error from atom builder
I have a simple controller that takes a request, looks up some data and then returns the results as either HTML or Atom. The HTML response works fine, but the Atom Builder is blowing up with an undefined method error that I can''t figure out. It seems to be failing when the ActiveRecord instance is passed to the ''entry'' method and it tries to build the URL via the

Multiple Feed Compression
Hi Guys, I have been using the VP3 codec for the last few months to encode a single feed from a video camera. I now need to compress multiple camera feeds simultaneously using the VP3 codec (for Windows). Does anyone know if the codec would support multiple feed compression (i.e. get the inter/intra frame compression per feed right), or if I would need to make some changes? Regards Oliver ---

Printing to PC's with no form feed
I have a binary release of Samba version 1.9.16p11 running on SCO Open Server 5 and I'm using smbclient to print text files to shared PC printers. This works great except for one thing; smbclient insists on appending a form feed to the end of each print job. For my particular application I cannot have form feeds appended so my questions are.... 1. Is there a way of suppressing the form feed
