Ack...OpenSSH no longer compatible with SSH 1.2.26 clients?
I just tried, on a whim, to use an OpenSSH client vs SSH 1.2.26 client,
and I can connect with it...
Something drastic change between pre23 and pre24? Then again, I can't get
pre23 to work anymore either, after further investigation :( OpenSSH
clients connect no problem, just not the old SSH 1.2.26 clients ...

Tags in files with Unicode BOM
Is there any way for flac or metaflac to support input from files with
Unicode Byte Order Marks (BOM)?
In command:
metaflac --remove-all-tags --set-tag-from-file="CUESHEET=CDImage.cue"
--set-tag-from-file="LOGFILE=CDImage.log" CDImage.flac
If "CDImage.cue" contains Unicode characters, most text editors append BOM
at the 1st line of this file.
And metaflac does not

Questions about image link file and CUE sheet
I would like to be able to select which tracks I like to play from
cdimage-file. So I mean that if I have some flac-file with CUE-data and I
like to make playlist for winamp with tracks 1, 3 and 7. How I can do that?
With image link files this would be easy, just select link files 1, 3 and
7. Is winamp plug-in having any features for CUE-sheet?

cdrecord Error (Permissions?)
List,
Sorry to trouble anyone, a google on my error from k3b lead me to a
permissions issue, but after searching through several of the links
(including a few forums) I've failed to turn up exactly what the
permissions should be or if that is even an accurate solution.
When running k3b I get an error stating that cdrecord did not exit
properly. And k3b will not burn a cd.

USB boot problems on Gigabyte GA-M55Plus-S3G

Sorry for not getting this right on the first reading.
I currently understand that a set active/bootable flag prevents the
USB stick from showing up in BIOS, and that without that flag it
begins to boot but fails with files not found.

The third boot image is HFS+, not FAT.
I understand this is for pre-EFI Macs.

Help installing Dovecot 1.0 on Debian 6.0.7
Hi,
Could someone please let me know if I can get the pre-built binaries for
Dovecot 1.0 for Debian 6.0?
If I do "apt-get install dovecot...", I am getting Dovecot v1.2.5
installed, but it doesn't like the existing Dovecot 1.0 configuration I
have, and due to some urgency, I am trying to avoid migrating the
configuration to the new structure / requirements.

SpanDSP and analog Digium channels (TDM400P)
Hi
I am trying to use Asterisk as a backend to send and receive faxes over
analog channels connected to a Siemens HiPath 3550 switch and a TDM400P
card.
Receiving faxes, including multipage ones, works really fine, we have no
issues at all. But when it comes to send faxes using the app_txfax
application, spandsp can't send multipage TIFF files for some reason, it
stops sending in the

Looking for debugging ideas and help with testing
Hi,
Please let me start a new thread for this. During the past weeks Debian
accumulated three bug reports, which seem to be the manifestations of a
Syslinux regression between 3.86 and 4.00 (see #604245):

"isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC
syslinux at zytor.com:
I have two older computers with Intel D865GBFLK motherboards (~2003)
and Pentium 4 HT CPU's. They both have the latest available BIOS
installed. I would like to put Debian on them.
I have downloaded:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/iso-cd/debian-8.7.1-i386-xfce-CD-1.iso
When I put debian-8.7.1-i386-xfce-CD-1.iso on a CD-R, it boots correctly.

Virtual PC not booting
Hi
I tried building Mandrake 9.2 DVD (combine files from iso images and so on).
Then I tried to boot it in MS Virtual PC 2004 and it didn't work. After a
while of expirementing I found out that no images work.
Attached is sample cd image. (Made with Nero 6.3).
I wonder is the problem in Nero, Virtual PC or in syslinux?

Upgrading MySQLdb
Hi;
I've got MySQLdb installed (bridge to Python) and I can't figure out how to
upgrade it. I did a find and got these paths:
/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.6beta2-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/dialects/mysql/mysqldb.py
/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/SQLAlchemy-0.6beta2-py2.6.egg/sqlalchemy/dialects/mysql/mysqldb.pyc
I don't have mysql-devel installed, so it wasn't that.
