Three questions/feature requests
I have three questions. If these are not currently possible, consider it a feature request: 1. Is it possible to create label aliases, such that one label will simply use the configuration of another, without having to completely copy the configuration. It would also be great if these aliases could cross INCLUDE boundaries, such that a label can call a label defined in an included file.

slapd.conf samba schema question
I am running samba 3.0.22 on RHES 3.0 and I currently have slapd.conf configured to use "include /etc/openldap/schema/samba.schema" do I need to change the schema to samba3.schema? Why I ask this I have bought Samba 3 by example and the example for Suse Linuxhas use the samba3.schema. Logical I would think I would want to do this. Should I update the slapd.conf to include

gcc, libkrb4 problem
I'm trying to recompile the source RPM from the FC3 version of cvs (http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/3/i386/SRPMS.updates/cvs-1.11.17-4.src.rpm), as the version shipped on RHEL/CentOS/etc has a known bug (version 1.11.2-unix "cvs watch on" doesn't work). The initial configure is failing with this obscure error: configure:2257: checking for C compiler default output file

kernel not booting after update
Hi all, I'm having a strange problem in which a certain box won't boot any kernel newer than 2.6.18-53. I have a kickstart setup that installs a CentOS 5.1 base (which comes with kernel 2.6.18-53), and then I do a "yum update" to 5.3. However, when 2.6.18-164 gets installed, the box is rebooted, and it dumps me in a grub prompt. If I manually enter root, kernel, initrd and

Using Centos
We need to resell systems that run commercial software on Linux. We were using Red Hat ES 3 originally. But we later realize that we cannot redistribute RHES without paying them huge subscription fee because of the trademark. I came across CentOS from WBEL mailing list. This looks like a godsend to me. I have some questions regarding CentOS. I would appreciate it if someone can provide me the

Density estimation when an end may not go to zero?
All the density estimators I've found in R seem to force the ends to go to zero. What can we do if we don't believe that, e.g., with something that might be a uniform distribution or a truncated normal with only observations above mu+sigma observed? The closest I could come to this was to artificially extend the numbers beyond the range, thereby forcing the density estimator

Problems with ADS membership with win2k domain
I'm having problems with ADS membership for samba. I had a "mostly" working version with RHES v2.1, krb5 v1.2, samba v3.0.5. I knew to get to a fully functioning version I would need krb5 v1.3 or later. So finally I had an opertunity to junk RH's crufty krb5 and build from scratch with: RHES v2.1 MIT krb5 v1.4 samba v3.0.13 This works fine on another server. Now to the

freebsd 7, panics - kqueue?
Hi, We have a issue with a server pretty much just running dovecot, there's about 250gb of maildirs which has about 200 simultaneous connections to it running on freebsd 7. The machine has stayed up for about 8 days before it panics but sometimes panics after about 24 hours. We are running a PAE kernel (with ULE scheduler) as the machine has 2 (4 core processors) and 8gb of ram, dovecot is

hvm networking with vif-route
Greetings xen gurus... I''m working with xen-3.0-testing downloaded on July 3, 2006. I have configured an hvm domain and want to use vif-route and network-route to configure the communication. The domU starts up fine. I was able to complete the installation of the OS (RHES3) and can restart the domain repeatedly. However, I cannot ping the network interface from dom0 using the

SLES?
Hi all, Just curious, Quite a while a go, i was checking for supported SW-platform. AFAIR, it was RHES and SLES Now it's only RHES-4 and FC-3 or FC-4. Not a single syllable about CentOS or SLES-9 or SLES-10 It probably just runs fine, but any chance of getting support for their *-enterprise version? avx512 JIT backend generates wrong code on <4 x float>
Hi Frank, I recommend trying trunk LLVM. avx512 JIT backend generates wrong code on <4 x float>
Hi Hal! Thanks, but unfortunately it didn't help. The exact same assembler instructions are generated for both 3.8 (yesterday) and trunk (from today). So, this really looks like a bug. RHN-like system for CentOS?
Team, Is anyone aware of a Red Hat Network alike system of server package update status that could be adapted for CentOS3? I'm not interested in the complete management aspect (channels, scheduling remote updates, etc) but merely the ability to see your list of systems and determine which are out of date with XXX packages. If you happen to manage a large-ish number of RHES3 systems, you

avx512 JIT backend generates wrong code on <4 x float>
Hi! When compiling the attached module with the JIT engine on an Intel KNL I see wrong code getting emitted. I attach a complete exploit program which shows the bug in LLVM 3.8. It loads and JIT compiles the module and prints the assembler. I stumbled on this since the result of an actual calculation was wrong. So, it's not only the text version of the assembler also the machine

KNL Vectorization with larger vector width
Thank You. Right now to see the effect i did following changes; unsigned X86TTIImpl::getRegisterBitWidth(bool Vector) { if (Vector) { if (ST->hasAVX512()) return 65536; here i changed 512 to 65536. Then in loopvectorize.cpp i did following; assert(MaxVectorSize <= 2048 && "Did not expect to pack so many elements" " into
