RedCloth startup?
hello hello..
as i am both developing and using my rails app on my laptop and as i shut it down at least daily (at night - to conserve energy), i had put the ruby startup server command (ruby script/server -d) in a cronjob set to reboot. that way, by the time i opened my browser, rails was already running. presto.
problem is, now that im using redcloth (via acts_as_textiled), i get an error on

How to read the logs?
Can anyone tell me where I can learn how to read and decipher the
logs? I''ve done a few google searches and nothing comes up.

Unicorn doesn't play nice with Capistrano deployment?
I am having issues when using unicorn with a Capistrano deployment.
>From what I have been able to understand Capistrano uses a scheme in
wich every release is deployed inside the releases directory under a
unique name and if the transaction was successful, creates a symlink
named current that will point to that release.

Stripping out textile markup
Hi,
I have several hundred pages of text, all carefully marked up with
textile, which I use redcloth to convert to html for display. Now I
find I need all these pages to alternatively output plain text - ie.
A-Za-z0-9 and simple punctuation only. Any suggestions on the best
way to do this? My only thought is to let redcloth do its stuff, and
then strip out the html tags - but it feels wrong.

How to automate the restarting of Unicorn?
Hi,
I have a question about automating the restarting of Unicorn with the
following steps, and much appreciate your help.
Assumption: (i) "pid" is set to unicorn.pid in the config file; (ii) a
Unicorn process is already running.
(1) kill -USR2 `cat unicorn.pid` (via Capistrano deployment task for example)
(2) Inside the "before_exec" hook in the config file, do: kill -QUIT

nnet problem
Hello everybody,
I want to use the nnet library and my problem is that the algorithm seems
to accept only class as target when the neural is fiiting. So the output
when I use predict.nnet is also a class. Is it possible to have numeric
variable as target ? If yes, what is the syntax ?

[RESQUE]Question about queues
I run Resque with x ''general'' queues. With ''general'' I mean a queue that
may run every type of Worker. Or in the Rake command: COUNT=x QUEUE=*

Nginx + Phusion Passenger 3 problem with "504 Gateway time-out"
Hi,
I have a Rails 3.2 app. There is a specific request that takes a long
time to execute. The context is, the user uploads a pdf, and then we
have some processing through carrierwave + rmagick that generate a
jpeg from the first page of the document. Everything works in dev mode
using both webrick and thin. The problem happens on the prod
environment with Nginx + Passenger.

Bold greek letters using plotmath
I'm trying to annotate some graphics using plotmath and finding out that the
code I'm using isn't bolding the greek letters - it bolds the rest (once I
adjusted the numerics to characters), it's just failing on the greek
characters.

domain names within app
Hi-
I have an shopping cart rails app.
I would like to be able to host multiple domain names within the same
shopping cart application.
I would like to be able to detect the domain name, and then set a
parameter that tells what logo to display for that domain name.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
