Matrix to "database" -- best practices/efficiency?
I have a matrix of, say, M and N dimensions: my_matrix=matrix(c(1:60),nrow=6,ncol=10) I have two "id" vectors corresponding to the rows and columns, e.g.: id_m=seq(10,60,by=10) id_n=seq(100,1000,by=100) I would like to create a "proper" database (let's say a data.frame for this example -- i'm going to be loading these into an SQLite database, but we'll leave

FW: Problems connecting with MySQL using odbcDriverConnect (RODBC package) on Linux
I think I figured this out. I should not have put the Driver name in braces. Changing it from {MySQL} to MySQL seems to work. -----Original Message----- From: Marcus, Jeffrey Sent: Tuesday, January 12, 2010 6:09 PM To: 'r-help at r-project.org' Subject: Problems connecting with MySQL using odbcDriverConnect (RODBC package) on Linux I am sure I'm doing something wrong here but not

Resolving ambiguous columns during a join
I am working with an existing schema and thus limited in how much I can bend my existing column names. I have a table Users, and a table ForumUsers, for which I have a "has_one" relationship - a user has_one forumuser. When I look at my user records I wish to include some information from forumuser: @users = User.find :all, :include => :forum_user, :order =>

suggest for "ambiguous column" when JOIN associated tables
Today I face with incorrect behavior in ActiveRecord. It take place when I try to use :include parameter for .find method. Where are two typical cases: 1. You have record with self-referential joins CREATE TABLE keywords (id, group_id); class Keyword < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :group, :class_name => "Keyword", :foreign_key =>

Eager loading and :order produces ambiguous column error
I''m sure I saw a post about this topic a while ago, but I haven''t been able to find it again. I have this association: has_many :sections, :class_name => "QuestionnaireSection", :order => "position", :dependent => :destroy, :include => :questions but since the Question object has a position column, the query comes back with Mysql::Error:

ambiguous nested conditions on find
Hi, i''m trying to figure out how to do a query with an ambiguous condition Lets say Comment belongs_to :article and :user, and Article :belongs_to :user How can I find the comments by one user on articles by another user in one query? This doesnt work, but is kind of the idea: Comment.find :all, :conditions => {''users.name'' =>

Database abstraction
Hi all - I've been working on a lite ORM and database abstraction package for R. Formatting complex queries by hand has always been an error-prone hassle, so I've tried to do away with that as much as possible, instead, using R objects to represent elements of a database system (statements, clauses, operators, functions, fields, tables, etc.). R5 classes have made the development of this

GlobalISel: Ambiguous intrinsic semantics problem
Hi GlobalISel interested parties, A recent bug report (https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40968) on AArch64 exposed a problem with our modeling of intrinsic semantics when dealing with type overloaded calls. The crux of the matter is that because GlobalISel’s LowLevelTypes only carry size and vector layout information, and not any information about whether a type is integer or fp, we lose

[LLVMdev] Expressing ambiguous points-to info in AliasAnalysis::alias(...) results?
Hi all, I'm playing around with implementing an existing non-LLVM AA algorithm as an LLVM AA pass. I'm looking for suggestions for getting it to fit in AliasAnalysis's worldview, so that it might eventually be a candidate for inclusion in LLVM. The algorithm maintains a may-point-to graph. Unfortunately the algorithm doesn't delete an "A-->B" edge when there's

What I'm saying is that it appears that your implementation of operator<< is not functional or is missing. You said that you are using GCC on internix. Is it possible

migrations :timestamp becomes :datetime in mySql
For some reason whenever I try and create a timestamp column with migrations and mysql I get a datetime column instead. That''s kind of annoying because I want the column to update every time the row gets changed. Is this a bug, or is there something I can do about it? (Obviously I can manually change my mysql table, but that kind of defeats the point of migrations!) In my migration

[LLVMdev] AsmWriter.cpp:255: error: ambiguous overload for `std::basic_ostream<char,...
No, Chris, I'm not buying that argument, due to I've tweaked /usr/include/types.h a little bit, so the configuration and compilation of the cfrontend would be correct: /* * 64bit type for BSD compatability */ #ifdef __GNUC__ typedef long long int quad_t; typedef unsigned long long int u_quad_t; typedef long long int int64_t; typedef unsigned long long int u_int64_t;
