Rails3 -- Replacement for ActionController::Base.relative_url_root?
I have a post on stackoverflow which outlines the problem I am having: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3181746/what-is-the-replacement-for-actioncontrollerbase-relative-url-root In short, I ported a rails 2.x to rails3 and started getting a deprecation warning for using ActionController::Base.relative_url_root. I switched to using config.action_controller.relative_url_root and while any

Uninitialized constant in integration test
I am seeing weird issues when trying to create integration tests. Here is a very simple example of something that is failing. The assert_redirected_to, and other methods, fail with this or similar exceptions. I have tried requiring both ''application'' and ''listings_controller'', but neither solves this problem, although the exception changes. Anybody know

session_options[:secure] resets session_id on every request
I''m working on an ecommerce site (in Rails 2.3) and I added: ActionController::Base.session_options[:secure] = true to ~/config/environments/production.rb Now, every time I add something to my shopping cart and navigate away I get a new session_id (which essentially empties my shopping cart). How can I get the continuity of my sessions back, while still having the session_id get set

I called the file "request.rb" because it keeps track of requests. So we speaking about the file /lib/rack/request.rb But even if I place an empty file on this, I get the following:

Method get of ActionController::TestCase ignores routes.rb?

I have the following RSpec2 test of my XmlRpcController#index action: it "should get nothing in response to GET request" do get :index response.response_code.should == 400 #bad_request end And the only line

in Rails, what is the main (global) scope called?
For example, you see files called rails/actionpack/lib/action_controller/base.rb which adds methods and such to the open module ActionController. What scope is ActionController in? Is it just called the global scope? Obviously, there is namespace resolution lookup. And a good example of this is in the Base class of the same file. It references one module like this: AbstractController::Layouts

Error: "ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken"
Hi there, I have my first Rails app running and I regularly get the following "logged_exception" error message: "ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken" Has anybody an idea what might cause this problem? Could it somehow be a "time out" error (like an "AuthenticityToken" which might expire after a certain time, or something along those lines)? Any

rails 3.0: ActionController::Base render()
Can anyone explain where render() comes from in ActionController::Base? I managed to trace it down only that far: ActionController::Base includes ActionController::Rendering where render() method is defined. This definition however calls to render of the superclass. Superclass is ActionController::Metal. Which in its turn inherits from AbstractController::Base. None of those have render () either

Problem verifying routing error
Hi, When upgrading to rspec/rspec-rails 1.2.6 gem (from 1.1.12), I''m having a new problem verifying routes that should not exist. This is to support something like this in routes.rb: map.resources :orders do |orders| orders.resources :items, :except => [:index,:show] end I used to use lambda {}.should_raise( routing error ), but it stopped detecting any raised error.
