Why are there more web design users using PHP instead of using Rails? Is

Using send_file and handling browser side cacheing

Hi all
How would you go about sharing a session between two rails2 applications? I
am using restful_authentication.
A point in the direction of some relevant blogs would also be a great help.

sql_session_store on rails2
Hi
We''re in the midst of upgrading our rails 1.2.6 app to rails 2.0. We
have been using the sql_session_store plugin for our sessions. I
wondering if anyone is still using SqlSessionStore on their rails 2
apps? Is it still worthwhile?

[Puppet Upgrade] Puppet agent does not work
I upgraded Puppet master from 2.7.6 to 2.7.20 on CentOS5.8_x86_64.
But when I tried to launch ''puppet agent -t'' on one of staging servers, the
puppet daemon did not work and got heaps errors.
I have no idea what made it wrong and how to fix it.

Sharing sessions between a rails3 app and a rails2 app. Rails 2 app crashes.
Hey all.
I have two apps. One is a rails3 app and the other is a rails 2 app.
Using proxying I am routing actions in the myapp.com/foo to the rails2
app.
It almost works! I can set a session variable and a cookie variable on
the first app (myapp.com) and then read them on the second app
(myapp.com/foo).
It only works the first time though. If I go back to myapp.com and
then revisit

load balance multiple puppetmaster, backend workers not authenticating
I''m trying to load balance multiple puppetmasters using apache and
passenger as described in James''s book.
Was able to get a single passenger server installation to work
correctly. When I configure the frontend load balancer and backend
workers, the backend workers does not authenticate even though I am
passing the headers to it.

Has anyone actually gotten the activerecord-sybase-adapter to work in
Rails2?

Running IE7 setup
Hi I am trying to run IE7 on my MACB00k Air OS 10.6.6. ?When I try to run IE7 and go to Internet options, under browser settings I can't set the memory for temp files. ?I enter 100MB and I get a message that the value needs to be between 8 and 8? Even when I put in 8 the setting is not retained? ?
Any Ideas, I am currently using Wine 1.2.2

Beta IE7 Policy Template
Hi all,
Just finished all of the "annoyance" issues with IE7 and started putting
together an IE7 policy template for System Policy Editor. This is just
a "beta" release I guess.

Launching IE7
I installed the newest version of Wine (1.2-rc4), and also IE7; however, I cannot find IE7 to launch it again! It doesn't appear in the list of programs, although it is listed under "Application Settings." Is there a different way to launch it? Is there a command I should use instead? Thanks! [Question]

Can't install IE7?
I'm trying to install IE7, but a few things happened.
For one, I get a prompt saying update.exe has an error, but from there it keeps going with the installation. Not sure what that's about.
Then, I get all the way to the part where it wants me to check the box for it to allow for automatic updates. I figured no big deal so I check the box and click Next. Then it goes to the window where

Odd things happening in ie6/ie7
As always, i am again having problems in IE6 and IE7 with scripts.
The scripting works fine in FF2, opera and Safari. IE just wont load
it. Could anyone help?

send_file and locking files after download?
Hello,
I''m working on a download service which grants users a one-time-download
access to files. The idea is to write an entry to a database table after
a successful download that "locks" the download link for the user.
After doing some quick tests with send_file I noticed that send_file

Sessions wont work with IE7 with 2.0.2?
I have an odd problem I don''t ever remember having before.
If I access my app with Safari or Firefox, I can login and maintain a
