ESX support
Just curious but how long has ESX support been in libvirt?
Also I noticed this error when accessing one of my windows vms:
error: internal error Expecting VMX entry 'scsi0.virtualDev' to be
'buslogic' or 'lsilogic' but found 'lsisas1068'
Not sure whether this is an enhancement, defect, or not supported at this time.
Thanks.

Xen HVM images on VMware ESX
Hi everyone,
I''m trying to convert some Xen HVM images to run on VMware ESX,
unsuccessfully thus far. I believe the problem is that ESX by default
wants the VMs to use SCSI virtual disks, but my HVM VMs are configured
to use IDE virtual disks. If you have any experience with this sort of
thing, please get in touch.
Thanks!

Journal Aborts in VMware ESX (Filesystem Corruption)
I have several CentOS5 hosts in a VMware ESX 3.5.0 226117 environment
using iSCSI storage. Recently we've begun to experience journal aborts
resulting in remounted-read-only filesystems as well as other filesystem
issues - I can unmount a filesystem and force a check with "fsck -f" and
occasionally find errors.

modern motherboard for centos-5
I'm considering upgrading, and am trying to choose a modern motherboard
that nevertheless fully works with Centos5/RHEL5.
Though I'm partial to AMD processors, and would like to use one in my
new configuration, that's not a requirement, if the most appropriate
board happens to be intel-compatible.
However, given the way ASUS is dumping LInux and crawling more firmly

Guest interface info under ESX driver
Hi,
Is there a way to fetch the current IP address of a running guest
domain (with VMware Tools installed) running on an ESX host?
Ideally this would be doable via the libvirt Python bindings.
Thank you.

Adaptec 39320A woes
I'm having speed problems with the SCSI card we're using to do tape
backup. It seems to be functioning in 16 bit mode and the current
thinking is that perhaps it's using a legacy driver instead of the
correct one. The Adaptec site has a 'driver' for RHEL5 which I've
downloaded and tried to install but it seems to have a problem
installing on a CentOS-5 system.

Libvirt api for esx
Hi,
I am doing poc for using libvirt api for implementation of esx in python.
I tried researching through module but did not find a way how it works for
esx.
Any help on how to proceed specifically for esx would be of great help.
Please let me know as soon as possible, lagging on deliverables.
Thanks for help!!

ESX - How to create a new domain
Hi,
I've been trying to figure out how to create a new domain(create a new
virtual machine) using the ESX driver.
The documentation at http://libvirt.org/drvesx.html says:
To define a new domain the driver converts the domain XML into a VMware VMX
file and uploads it to a datastore known to the ESX server. Because multiple
datastores may be known to an ESX server the driver needs to decide

zfs + iscsi target + vmware esx server
I''m posting here as this seems to be a zfs issue. We also have an open ticket with Sun support and I''ve heard another large sun customer also is reporting this as an issue.
Basic Problem: Create a zfs file system and set shareiscsi to on. On a vmware esx server discover that iscsi target. It shows up as 249 luns. When attempting to then add the storage esx server eventually

Libvirt uses XML for most of the APIs. Depends what you need to do you can
transform it with xmltodict or use some higher level API. I'm not sure I can
