Saving ActiveRecord in PostgreSQL without id
I have a small table that is used to temporarily queue requests, as such it does not have an id field (or any other primary key), because it doesn''t make sense to have one. When I created an ActiveRecord class and tried to save it, I get: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: PGError: ERROR: relation "temp_requests_id_seq" does not exist It keeps looking for the id to auto

I have several tables that are initialized with data from csv files and I''ve noticed that, when I try to add new data to any of these tables via Table.new I get a PGError on duplicate key. For example: MIGRATION: class CreateNumbers < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up

acts_as_tree counter_cache behavior is different than API docs
Before I file a ticket, I''ll query ya''ll about this: The API docs for acts_as_tree''s counter_cache is to create a database column called "children_count" to hold the counter_cache. I have enabled this option in my model. While writing tests I wrote a test for creating children from the a parent: message = @forum_message["parent"].find child =

I have an error I don''t know how to debug. I am adding the login suport in Depot (the example in the RoR book) and LoginController#add_user throws ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid in an innocent /login/add_user GET request. The trace goes down to a call to SQLiteAdapter#table_structure, and the source code suggests what''s happening is that "PRAGMA
