Migrating RHEL 3 to Centos 5.2 - has Adaptec 2400a RAID
Greetings all. I'm new to the mailing list. Hope to get to know many of you. I'll jump right in with a recent project. I have a machine with RHEL WS 3 - Taroon; plus dual boot to Win 2000 Pro. The RAID card is Adaptec's 2400A w/128 megs cache, running RAID 10 on 4 WD's. I want to migrate to 5.2 Centos and wipe the NTFS partition. I have the 5.2 Centos DVD. Anyone see any

IAX Devices Recommendation
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Does anyone have any recommendations on an IAX Desktop Telephone or ATA Device. I currently have 2 of the SIPURA-841's on my local network and now I am wanting to try an IAX Device at my remote office since I think that it would be easier to configure through various routers than a SIP Device. I just started to look at the Digium IAXy Single FXS

CentOS 4 - i2o_block - Adaptec RAID
I know I saw some other posts on this in the archives, but I wanted to see if there was any new information. I have MANY Intel servers (SR1200, SR1300, etc.) that are using the Adaptec 2010S, 2100S, 2110S and 2120S SCSI RAID Controllers. They are currently running CentOS3.4 and everything works great. From what I know, these cards should be able to use the i2o_block driver which is part of the

Serial ATA hardware raid.
Hi everyone, I'm looking into setting up a SATA hardware raid, probably 5 to use with CentOS 4. I chose hardware raid over software mostly because I like the fact that the raid is transparent to the OS. Does anyone know of any SATA controllers that are well tested for this sort of usage? From what I can tell from googling, this is more or less where RHEL stands: Red Hat Enterprise Linux

dpt_i2o almost there
Hi all! I''m using make world as recommeded and it compiles fine, then changed the dpti2o config option to ''y'' and recompiled with ARCH=xen make. The xen0 freeze on reading dpti2o tables and I can''t get any output with sysrq (enabled too). Compiling original 2.6.7 works fine. Any idea? Driver dpt_i2o
Hi! I''m trying to install XEN on my test machine because running it on cdrom was too slow. Well, that test machine is a dual P4 with hyperthreading, 2GB of RAM and scsi controller dpti2o. I read the Xeno-1.2-HOWTO.txt, and compile xenolinux without problem, but xen appears to not support dpti2o. Am I missing something here? Another question, when the machine is at grub menu, we can

Turning Wireless Radio on and off: how?
Hi all, I've got a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a Broadcom 1390 Wlan mini card (integrated) wireless lan chipset. I've got an init script setup to activate the wireless connection at boot time, however when the system boots the adapter doesn't connect. I'm not able to get a connection until after the desktop is done loading and I run the script from the command line. After some

Max filesystem size for ext3 using Adaptec RAID 5 on 64 bit CentOS
We are strategizing a set of backup servers and I have been trying to deduce wha the maximum size of each RAID 5 array should be to match the OS we are using. We are currently running CentOS 4.3 64 bit. We have planned a 2 TB RAID 5 array for testing but we will need to set up several larger ones for production. I have poked around and I see people mention limits like 2TB max file size and 32TB

Adaptec AIC-9410
Hello, I just recently purchased two new Supermicro servers: SYS-6025B-3R SYS-6015B-3R Both of these have an Adaptec AIC-9410 SAS controller in them, that is apparently not detected (or supported?) by FreeBSD (amd64) (7.0 or 7.1 RC1) Is there any way to get FreeBSD to detect this controller (and drives on it)? I found some conversations from 2006 about this, but no updates since. Thanks in

(especially when using it for zfs/nfs esx setup) the driver from adaptec is for solaris 10 u4. If it does not work out of the box, can i use that driver with opensolaris/snv ? thanks roland --

Adaptec Host Raid
Hi All, I need to install CentOS 4.0 x86_64 using Adaptec ASC-29320A with HostRAID enabled, but it seems my card isn't recognized. I've tried to install the hardware using driver downloaded for RHEL 4.0 from the Adaptec Website, but still it's unrecognized. P.S. I'm able to install RedHat 9.0 using this card before. Is there anyone have any solution for this? Thanks and
