Asterisk+squid
Hi, I've installed Asterisk 1.2.13, and it works ok, but I have some voip clients behind a squid proxy server, and this clients can't connect to the Asterisk server. I added the access lists which permit the voip ports through the proxy, but the clients can't connect. This access lists in squid.conf are: acl safe_ports port 5060 acl safe_ports port 4569 acl

How do I set the Ruby path that Puppet uses? I have Ruby Enterprise Edition installed for my *application*, installed from source and symlinked (/usr/local/bin/ruby) so it''s in the path, overriding the default .deb installed standard Ruby (/usr/bin/ruby). For *Puppet* I want to use the standard Ruby (/usr/bin/ruby). I''m seeing some hangs during my Puppet runs and I''m

Dashboard table resource_statuses growing uncontrollably
I''ve "inherited" the administration of a puppet-dashboard (version 1.1.0, installed on RHEL 5.6 from puppetlabs RPM), and have hit a problem I''m hoping for some help with. In short, one table, "resource_statuses" appears to be growing at a rate far higher then the other tables: mysql> select count(*) from nodes; +----------+ | count(*) | +----------+ |

sample sleep command killed
I re-wrote the compile script to build klibc (cleaning up how I do it, and how to find the source tarballs). It seems to be compiling fine. I tried several of the commands in usr/utils/static and most one. However, the sleep command fails in a strange way (EINVAL on execve): ================================================================ faraday/phil /home/phil/klibc-project-0 581> strace

domain member server problems
Hi folks, A friend of mine has one samba PDC and about ten member server around this PDC. The only problem he has that he has to add the new users on every member server instead of main them only on the PDC. So how can get member servers synchronized. He uses samba password authentication. I think using ldap could be the ultimate solution. I'm wondering your opinion. thanks., Sandor --

How to delete NON-EMPTY directories through a Samba share?
Hi all, I have setup a Samba server as file and print server. Everything works perfectly, I can print, I can write, delete files through Samba. But, the only thing that does not work is to delete a NON-EMPTY directory. No error message received, just don't want to delete it. As soon as I delete all files from the directory, then the directory can be deleted too. The problem is recursive for

Samba send SPNEGO if Extended Security is ON
I've checked the samba code (sessetup) and found out that samba always send spnego packet when Extended Security capability is ON. (This can't be turned off/on ie. "use spnego = false") Does it mean I can "never" connect to smb server that doesn't support spnego if Extended Security is supported by server? Is my understanding correct?

chrooting/jailing transfer-only accounts
Folks, I've been tasked to find a solution that will create file-transfer-only accounts that are jailed or chrooted to a specific directory. (Not an uncommon task, I think.) Using the OpenSSH server and the OpenSSH scp client program, I can achieve the goal of having a file transfer only account jailed to a specified directory, by using the "scpjail" script (attached) as a
