[JOB] Robust RoR Web Application in NYC
Hello All,
I know that a local position is not optimal, but I'm working for a funding
company that is overhauling their existing RoR platform and is looking to
bring on another full time Ruby developer. The team is 10 strong right now,
each having strong programming fundamentals and they are not having any

removing stale active record sessions
I have an application that is used by only a small number of persons.
This app stores its sessions in the database. When the user logs out,
the session is removed, but of course, there is always the possibility
that the user will forget to logout, and the session will go stale.
In other webapps, I have used a sweeper ruby script that I run as a
cron job to periodically clean these out. But I

Need your inputs on issue: stale sessions in openssh
Hi Folks,
I am working on openssh-5.5p1.I am facing an issue in a scenario described
below.
Client has established a ssh connection to the server.
Due to no activity at the client , the shell got killed once the timeout
reached.
As shell got killed , the server sends a close to client and waits for
receiving the ack from client.
But somehow, the client is not sending the close.
Now as per RFC,

rails timezone difference in console and production application
Hi all,
I''m on a rails 2.3.5 app. I''ve got my timezone set to ''Brussels'';
config.time_zone = ''Brussels''
When I use mysql I see that a date is stored in UTC (as expected);
e.g. 2010-04-07 15:03:10
When I use console to print out the date it correctly returns;
>> job.created_at.strftime(''%d %b %Y, %H:%M'')

The "data stale" state applies to the entire set of variables for an UPS, so if the exit code of `upsc` is zero, the data set is not stale.

"no longer stale" when disconnected with 2.0.5 newhidups
Hello,
I'm using driver newhidups with APC Back-UPS CS 500. Most things works fine
except the following:
After I disconnect the UPS the upsd write "Data for UPS [apc] is stale -
check driver" in /var/log/messages. In the same second it tells "UPS [apc]
data is no longer stale". This repeats all the time the ups is
disconnected:

Script for removing stale sessions: version for RH6.0? [Offtopic?]
Hello, people at SAMBA list.
I'm going thru the same problem that Nicholas Williams has
described in samba-list first (see references below), and I'm implementing
the solution you've decribed in the list
(SO_KEEPALIVE, etc). But I'm stuck with the script issue, as I run RedHat
Linux 6.0 which doesn't use ksh but pdksh instead. The ksh script doesn't
run in pdksh

stale/dead ups logic
hi:
when testing nut in our environment, we found something that nut
maybe tune for "stale/dead ups" situation. currently the "dead ups"
are assume alive(eg: host shutdown unnecessary), unless it is in the
"OB" state before going to stale.
our environment (ServerA + ServerB forms a cluster):
ServerA-> usb to UPSA -> two PS power by UPSA and UPSB

Data Stale at random intervals
Ran with gdb:
gdb /lib/nut/usbhid-ups
run -u nut -a nailbunny -x bus=010 -x vendorid=0764 -x productid=0501 -DDDDD
Same result as when I ran normally. Driver just stops communicating with no errors or messages in the logs. Not sure where to go from here as I'm not seeing anything to follow up on.

The output of the lsusb command is the same before and after the data goes

And the output of the /lib/nut/nutdrv_qx -a apollo-ups -DD 2>&1 command is

PostgreSQL
Hi @ all
Does anyone has some experience with PostgreSQL and RoR? Does it gives
any disadvantages or problems with PostgreSQL? I have a webapplication,
that manage (read/write) many records (no. 200''000 records) and I search
a ideal database. Actually, I have two options: - MySQL / - PostgreSQL
And now, I would like to ascertain a good solution...
Thx, ribit
