PeriodicalUpdater onComplete broken?
Using the PeriodicalUpdater, I''m finding the onComplete is not firing. I thought I''d get some feedback here before filing a bug report. http://ianty.com/updater/update_test_1.6.0.1.html http://ianty.com/updater/update_test_1.6.0.html The above are examples of this for prototype 1.6.0 & 1.6.0.1. I''m expecting the onComplete to fire after the update takes place, per

Can the http response and the controller/action finish be separated?
Hi all, I have a situation where a very simple request can trigger a time- consuming operation, but the requesting page doesn''t need the result of the lengthy computation. In the standard controller action of handling the http request, it appears that ack''ing the request is closely coupled with completing the request. Can this be altered in order to separate these two actions

Storing Rails controller callback data in session
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16770090/storing-rails-controller-callback-data-in-session The idea is: - Perform some time consuming action in background. - Have the results from that action be propagated back to the controller using a callback. - Store the result in an in memory session store. - Have the result in session be used and available from that point onward.

comparing ajax.updater div in js
This is really bugging me no matter what I''m trying. In javascript, I''m using the ajax.updater, and it (obviously) writes back out to a div. I want to then compare what was echoed out into this div (which came from the php file I listed in ajax.updater) with a string. test should equal "SomeString" because that is what is being echoed out to

RE: Prototype: correct useage of onCompletewithAjax.PeriodicalUpdater
The only call that PeriodicalUpdater will make periodically to you is the insertion call. I think of onComplete as being ''I''ve done everything I was going to do'', which for Updater is right after it''s done a single update, but for PeriodicalUpdater, it''s after it''s finished all of its updates, so you''ll only get it once for any call

RE: Prototype: correct useage of onComplete withAjax.PeriodicalUpdater
>From a quick look at the source code, it looks like onComplete is only called when the whole thing is done - in the case of Updater, right after the update, in the case of PeriodicalUpdater, right after it has been stopped. It looks like you need to pass your callback method as an ''insertion'' method in the options. This takes two parameters, the first will probably be the

dynamically change frequency in periodicalUpdater
Hello All, I''ve seen this topic but it seems no one has post a response. I''m using periodicalUpdater to display live content queried from a database. Sometimes the result can be thousands of rows and before it finishes processing (displaying as a visual indicator) all the data, the next request is sent to the server. I''d like to have a periodicalUpdater whose

prototype.js
Hi *, We don''t know if you guys are the right audience, but we got a problem with prototype.js we need to solve. Essentially, it is a compatibility bug with the IE. We wrote a component so it updates itself periodically using AJAX. we used the prototype.js to accomplish this (using the periodicalUpdater object). now the component works fine using firefox or opera, but NOT with IE. the

Vuong test
Dear All, I am using the function vuong from pscl package to compare 2 non nested models NB1 (negative binomial I ) and Zero-inflated model. NB1 <-  glm(, , family = quasipoisson), it is an object of class: "glm" "lm" zinb <- zeroinfl( dist = "negbin") is an object of class: "zeroinfl"   when applying vuong function I get the following: vuong(NB1,

prototype 1.6 Ajax.PeriodicalUpdater executing old scripts??
Hello , I have a PeriodicalUpdater executing every x seconds and sends a ajax request to update an element. Each time it comes back, the element is getting replaced with some html and and possibly <script>coolFunction()</script>. This seems to work fine when for prototype 1.5. However when I upgraded to prototype 1.6, it seems to execute coolFunction() as many times as the request has

Poisson Regression: questions about tests of assumptions
I would like to test in R what regression fits my data best. My dependent variable is a count, and has a lot of zeros. And I would need some help to determine what model and family to use (poisson or quasipoisson, or zero-inflated poisson regression), and how to test the assumptions. 1) Poisson Regression: as far as I understand, the strong assumption is that dependent variable mean = variance.

Vuong test
Hi, I have two questions. First, I'd like to compare a ZINB model to a negativ binomial model with the Vuong test, but I can't find how to performe it from the zicount package. Does a programm exist to do it ? Second, I'd like to know in which cases we have to use a double hurdle model instead of a zero inflated model. Many thanks, St??phanie Payet REES France R??seau

it''s probably the iPhone. I mean, would you *really* want your phone to be connected to the internet all the time? puppet-dashboard delayed workers
Hello I have just installed puppet dashboard from git. everything seems to load ok except it seems as though background tasks are not being run. According to the code README: running: # env CPUS=4 RAILS_ENV=production /.../script/delayed_job -p dashboard -n $CPUS -m start will start the worker. however it seems as though it is not running (or if it is how can I check?) and the back ground

Having trouble using data returned by Ajax.request
Hello everyone, I''m new here. I''ve been working with prototype and plotr for about a month now, off and on, and I have pretty much hit the wall on using the data returned by Ajax.Request. I''m using some php code to return a string: {''foo'': [[0,0.0865334429075127], [1,0.0828179861705063], [2,0.0828173042602942], [3,0.0841707718624196]]} But I keep
