redcloth executable removed from gem?
Hello, I have the RedCloth 4.x gem installed on a new machine. I used to use the redcloth command line tool/executable ocassionally. Can anyone clarify if it''s still part of the RedCloth 4.x gem series? Thanks. PS: I checked the sources. And the executable source resides in bin [1]. However, checking the Rakefile that generates the gem package I can''t find any

redcloth gem ragel code doesn''t build in jruby
I tried to install RedCloth-3.274 in jruby (trunk) but the install failed when RedCloth tried to build the C code using mkmf: I forget whether SuperRedcloth ever did build in JRuby?? I know Hpricot (which also uses ragel which can compile to Java code) works in JRuby -- with the patch here: https://code.whytheluckystiff.net/hpricot/ticket/131) I might be confusing the two ... Three processes for each mongrel server?
Hi everyone. Zed, thanks for Mongrel. I''ve been running mongrel on my WiFi cafe site (http://wifi.earthcode.com), and it''s been great. It handled a front-page digg a few weeks ago without blinking. However, I''m setting up a staging environment right now, and I''m getting what looks like three mongrel processes *all listening on the same port* for each mongrel

Commands failing silently?
Hello all: I have a couple CentOS 4 servers (all up-to-date) that are having strange command failures. I first noticed this with a perl script that uses lots of system calls. Basically, sometimes a command just won't run: thoth(52) /tmp> ls thoth(53) /tmp> ls thoth(54) /tmp> ls thoth(55) /tmp> ls learner lost+found/ thoth(56) /tmp> ls learner lost+found/ thoth(57)

Versions and gem ?
Hi all, I am using the Textile part of RedCloth for the Manta version of LogiLogi.org, an OS project of mine. Now I was looking at changing the LINK_RE so it allows links without spaces inbetween them like ("te":index.html;"xt":index.txt). Now that''s pretty easy, but still risky because a change in the bracket-order of the LINK_RE in a newer version would wreck it,

Browsing Issues
Hi - I'm having some problems with network browsing using a Samba PDC (3.0.22) and I'd appreciate any hints that might push me in the right direction. One of the problems is that I am on a very crowded subnet that is being used by several different groups. There are a two separate WinNT/2000-style domains active on this network as well as an AD domain controller. Here are the

RedCloth 4.1.1 vs. 4.2.3 - weird behaviour with notextile
For a community project I aim to combine RedCloth and Coderay and on doing this, I might have found an issue with RedCloth. I pushed a demo to Github: https://github.com/markusproske/redcloth_coderay_demo The index (http://localhost:3000/) demonstrates the issue. In brief: A page consist of textile. The textile contains @@@ruby somecode @@@ The textile is first feed into Coderay via a helper

Redcloth gem properly installed ... still errors
Hi all, installed redcloth for using the object.attrib.textilize method in a template. Using 3.0.3 because it supoosedly works the best with rails 1.0.0. Keep getting the undefined method error. Did the require thingy, but no luck What would be the most I''m-a-guru place to put the require btw? Thanx. Gerard -- "Who cares if it doesn''t do anything? It was made with

Okay, you can get some gems of the latest: gem install RedCloth --source http://code.whytheluckystiff.net Don''t take these as a decision on how Jason should name or package the RedCloth 4 gem, this is just to get the code into everyone''s hands for testing. _why

I am very overwhelmed going to production and need help
The title says it all - please bear with me. To let you know where I stand, I have been working for up to 12 hours a day for 2 months and 2 weeks trying to get my site ready for release. In development (on windows) it works perfectly. In production (on linux ubuntu) it does not. I stopped using capistrano because there are problems with the repo on github and things aren''t working

Getting rid of printer temp files
You need to add a semicolon and then the command rm %s to the end of your print command. However, you'll need to delete the files already there manually from Unix. print command = /bin/pt %p %s %M %U %T %a %v %m %I %d;rm %s Steve Litt At 03:22 AM 12/09/1999 +1100, you wrote: >I've set up Samba 2.0.6 for use as a print server on our company NT >network. Printer fun - controlling queue from Windows NT clients
I have set up a Samba server to act as our lab's print server for a bunch of NT clients. It works quite well, except for one thing. Nobody can control the print queue from Windows. When a job is sent, it never shows up in the Windows print queue window, even when there are lots of other jobs ahead of it. Using lpq under Linux shows the jobs just fine. Lprm et al work perfectly too. So I assume

How to lock a GEM version
I''ve moved an app from one server to another, which resulted in my app using RedCloth 3.0.4 instead of 3.0.3. This basically wreaked havoc on my app, and since both versions are installed on my current server, I''d like to force my Rails app to use the older one. I looked and looked and can''t figure out how to do this. It must be simple! Can anyone point me to the

Redcloth bug - Stack overflow in regexp matcher
Hi, I''ve been using the rassmalog static blogging engine and have encountered a stack overflow inside the redcloth regexp matcher. I don''t seem to suffer this error on my Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn) box (with Ruby 1.8.4??), but I do get it on my Gentoo system. Running the following line will generate it (I''ve attached the YAML/redcloth file to this message). $ ruby -ryaml

''dependencies'' and RedCloth
Hey gang. Jed noticed an issue with the ''dependency''/''dependencies'' macro the other day when working on the Collective wiki. Namely, if you make RedCloth a dependency Merb gets a little cranky. I think I have this figured out when doing some mods to Collective today too. However, before I go trying to fix this in Merb, I wanted to run this by the community.

ignored blocks in redcloth
Hello Redclothians, In Redcloth, is there syntax to add something to a wiki block that is not parsed by redcloth? for example: $permission$ h2. title * blah * blah where $permission$ is ignored by redcloth, so it doesnt affect the rendering of wiki syntax -> html, but appears when you edit a page (perk for me would to also have it not appear in the rendered html). Why would anyone want
