array code issue ?
Hi, I just took a look into the dovecot 2.1 sources and just saw a possible issue in array.h. This code snippet as an example: #static inline void * #array_get_modifiable_i(struct array *array, unsigned int *count_r) #{ # *count_r = array->buffer->used / array->element_size; # return buffer_get_modifiable_data(array->buffer, NULL); #} array->buffer->used and

replace -Wextra with -W
The attached small configury patch replaces -Wextra with -W in the main CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS assignments. A few lines after them, -Wextra is conditionally added already with XIPH_ADD_CFLAGS([-Wextra]), so this allows build using older compilers. Wextra in configury
flac configury does a XIPH_ADD_CFLAGS([-Wextra]) around line 426, however it unconditionally adds -Wextra some lines before that too. The attached patch removes that unconditional addition of -Wextra which (i) removes duplicate addition, and (ii) allows older gcc versions to compile the tree peacefully. Please consider applying. -- O.S. -------------- next part -------------- diff --git

FWIW, configure is already checking to see whether the compiler is gcc or not. There's an if clause in the configure scripts for ogg, vorbis, theora, and other of our packages that uses this to add

I was wondering why there isn't a FLAC_index (FLAC_index16 or FLAC_index32) type that would prevent someone from just "winging" it with a bad choice for an index to

PATCH/RFC chain.c: update iterator code, yank from chain.c, move both to separate directory
1) code split and move Iterator related functionality is yanked from chain.c and moved to iterator.{c,h}. Both are moved to com32/chain and this way chain.c is ready for further splitting. Alternatively, partiter could be moved to com32/lib at any time in the future. It's potentially useful for other modules (e.g. if someone wanted to code partition dumper or editor). 2) Iterator updates

total warning-removal for daemon/
The warnings in daemon were aggravating and risky for development (too easy to miss new ones) so I spent some time last week and today working on removing them. The first patch gets us down to almost no warnings with the original -Wall setting. That was by far the hardest part. Once I'd done that, I enabled nearly all of gcc's warnings via gnulib's warnings and manywarnings modules
