problems installing wine 1.3.24/sketchup 8/on fedora 15
I am trying to install wine (1.3.24) from winehq for fedora and sketchup (8) on a Fedora-15 box. I have tried to follow the Sketchup Sage site http://sites.google.com/site/sketchupsage/problems/linux
After installing Wine and Sketchup, I have ?Wine Files? under the new GNOME-3 Applications and when I open it I get what looks like a Windows window. No Sketchup in there.
I have 2 Sketchup icons

Kernel core dump in recent 4.8-STABLE
Today my system coredumped (4.8-STABLE from Saturday), I believe it's somehow
X11 related:
X11 crashed first (signal 11). I was running it as root (I know I shouldn't).
I didn't think about it and restarted X11. While it was starting, I had a look
at the console, there was a bright white message: issignal.
This shows up at X11 startup.
Then the system coredumped.
Below is more

Server overloaded? Or is it a bug?
Hi all!
I need your help.
My server doesn't respond any more. Everything crashed.
How can I find out if this is a bug or it is simply overloaded?
I don't have much running, just KDE with about 10 programs
on each of the 16 desktops, and a few background processes.
This seems much, but I often have much more stuff running,
and it is not even slow.
It does respond when I ping it, but

dividing vectors into bins with equal widths
Hi R-users,
I am trying to divide a vector (say X) into equal frequency bins. If one uses the hist()
function, then a histogram is plotted, but with bins of equal widths, and not with bins
having the same number of data points.
I have then tried the histogram() function as follows:
histogram(X, nint=10, breaks=NULL, equal.widths=F)
This works as I want. However, I can't extract which

DNAT issue
Hi,
Sorry, not an experienced shorewall user, this is my first basic setup.
This starts to drive me crazy.
I wanted to use DNAT to forward port 33890 to an internal machine (windows)
port 3389. To reach my workstation when I''m not home.
In my rules :
DNAT:debug net loc:192.168.0.11:3389 tcp 33890 -
pub.lic.ip.add
#SECTION BLACKLIST
#well known port scans
DROP net

Multiple gateways setup and timeout connections
Hi,
I''ve setup a gateway using multiple default gateways and netfilter
MASQUERADE to load balance traffic between two DSL interfaces and one
dedicated link, and when I try to download something big, or when I''m
using MSN (both in clients under this gateway), sometimes, or most
times, after a while the connection timeouts. The connection doesn''t
seem to change its

Javascript Confirm for Form Value
How could I ask a user to confirm specific form input?
EX:
<%= f.submit ''Donate'', :confirm => ''Confirm your donation amount:
###amount###'' %>
Where the ###amount### would be replaced with the amount entered in
the form.
Thanks,
Dustin

seeking a help on if function
Hello r helpers! Below is the whole coding for my programme. Before proceed more further, let me explain for you. First of all, I need to compute trimmed mean. Till that step is ok. Then I need to compute ssdw which is sum of square deviation. If I do equal trimming at both tail of distribution that I chose, I will use the first ssd formulae which is "a". root_path and root_url undefined
Hi all,
I''ve just started working on another RoR project after a couple of months
away. I''m having trouble with named routes, specifically root_*
In previous apps I''ve used root_path and root_url without any problems, but
in this project (2.3.2 - the same as my last project where I used it) it
comes up undefined.
I''ve double and triple checking my routes.rb,

Ensuring that foreign key is valid
I am trying to set up a validation in a model to ensure that a record
can''t be saved unless the foreign key it belongs_to is a valid record.
My model says:
class Admin < ActiveRecord::Base
validates_presence_of :user_id
validates_numericality_of :user_id
validates_uniqueness_of :user_id
validates_associated :user
belongs_to :user
end
but I can still create an admin

traffic shaping - equally distribute bandwidth
Hello!
I am running my linux box as a firewall in a bridge mode. Firewall is
protecting a /24 network. I want to make that the bandwidth
distributes equally to active nodes: if N nodes are accessing the
internet simultaneous then each node gets bandwith/N.
Is there any way to achieve this with shorewall?
Thank you!

Is every node being treated equally in tinc?
Hi Guys,
I have a general question, traffic wise, is every node from tinc being
treated equally? Say every tinc node is a pc(with same condition)
connectting to same carrier signal (say AT&T), after a certain amount of
time(say one week), will every node(pc) consume the same amount of data? If
there will be a difference, why so?
Thanks.

Split bursty bandwidth equally
Hello again,
Is it possible to split a bandwidth equally among clients regardless of its
current link speed?
I have a link that can get bursty at times. At any given time the N active
sessions (the ones with non-empty queues) need to be serviced
simultaneously, each at a rate of 1/N''th of the link speed.
My case is an internet connection that oscillates between 96 kbps and 256

routing based on user id
Hi all!
I''ve got 2 (soon 3) internet connection. 1 - via ADSL, 2(and3) via ppp
My network:
http://desima.objectis.net/network-diag
linux1:
user1.user2
eth0=192.168.1.1
ppp0=192.168.5.2( gw 192.168.5.1)
gw=192.168.1.2 ( thru ADSL)
compA=192.168.1.6
compB=192.168.1.15
gw2=192.168.1.217 via ppp to different ISP
All works for compA and CompB,
user1 should use default gw(192.168.1.2)

Multiple Internet connections with Dynamic IP addresses
Cristian and Alex,
Both of you have asked about this. A routing table can only have one default
route so when the second link comes up, adding the second default route will
fail. So in general, Shorewall can only reliably detect the gateway for
P-T-P connections which is what the CVS current code does.

scp problems?
Hi. So I have been having problems using scp to copy
files between two of my machines, both of which are running OpenSSH
2.30p1 (though I've had the same problem with previous versions).
It is basically as simple as the file not being transferred after
authentication occurs. I can however use scp to copy files back and
forth from another machine using a SSH Communications version
