Problem with image caching
Hello, I have a little problem with image caching. I have a Student model which contains, for each student, a picture (picture_data for datas and picture_type for the content-type of the picture). As I want to save brandwidth, I followed the tutorial in http://manuals.rubyonrails.com/read/chapter/62 for caching pictures. If I test, as the tutorial suggests it, with curl, it''s working

Brandwidth for making internet calls
My ADSL connection speed is 512Kb up and 128Kb down. When making calls from Asterisk to IAX and back to the Asterisk, the sound is choppy and 20% of voice messages was lost. What is the production bandwidth requirement per internet call. I understand there is no guarantee of QoS but at least a benchmark to follow. -- David Kwok Iaxtel/FWD # 17001813482 -------------- next part

Using Token Bucket Filter to simulate a low bandwidth radio link
Hello, I am attempting to use the LARTC traffic control to simulate a radio link that has variable bandwidth and availability. The basic bandwidth could be as low as 500 bits/sec but will generally be about 4000 bits/sec. If the simulated radio link is unavailable (zero bandwidth) then packets should be queued until a link is re-established. i.e. Initial bandwidth is 5000bits/sec then to 0

HTB Weird Shaping Question(Bug?). Please Help!
Hi all, I have a script that allocates an ADSL(1500K/256K) bandwidth to three users. My idea is to allow each user having a guarentee rate, while each one is allowed to burst to the max rate while no one is using the bandwidth. I use imq0 for uplink (for some mobility reason) and imq1 for downlink. Everything works smoothly except for VoIP traffic. There are three VoIP phones attached to a

Question about TBF burst parameter
Hi, I am a completely newbie, and have been doing intense reading for the entire last week, and have the following novice question: In section 9.2.2.2. of LARTC HOWTO, the following sample configuration given: # tc qdisc add dev ppp0 root tbf rate 220kbit latency 50ms burst 1540 Why is the burst parameter value determined to be 1540? Thanks, Todd

shape outgoing/upload traffic PER-IP.
does anyone know a way to shape outgoing/upload traffic per ip? I have a network and i want to limit the upload with 100kbit per user. Ex: 192.168.1.20 ----> 1024kbit-DOWN / 100kbit-UP 192.168.1.21 ----> 1024kbit-DOWN / 100kbit-UP and so on....... Ive tried CBQ and HTB, but couldnt get is right. the only thing that I did in upload bases was: "tc qdisc add dev ppp0 root tbf rate

Memory leak - how to investigate
My web & name server runs out of memory from time to time, to the point where it's completely unresponsive to anything. At that point reset is the only alternative. (Or, as this is a virtual guest, I just say "virsh destroy"). But why this happens - I would like to know. The host in question is a KVM guest, and runs CentOS 6.4. From "top" (situation now): Mem:

simple tbf rate clamping issues
Hello, I was attempting to throttle egress traffic to a specific rate using a tbf. As a starting point I used an example from the LARTC howto, which goes: tc qdisc add dev eth1 root tbf rate 220kbit latency 50ms burst 1540 I then attempt a large fetch from another machine via wget (~40 megs) and the rate was clamped down to about 12Kbytes/s. As this seemed too much, I gradually increased

infinite amount of data for HTB burst
Dear all, I''d like to ask for help with HTB configuration (after having read some manual pages, FAQs and forum posts). Short version: is there a way to specify infinite burst for HTB? (Infinite amount of data to use the "ceil" rate.) Long version: I have the following small topology: cable modem (uplink to ISB) | <ethernet>

Weighted packet shaping?
Hi all, Im new to all this, and am still trying to get my head qround some of the concepts of how this all works. Ive read the howto''s, man pages etc. Ive setup packet shaping on my router/server box using HTB and SFQ, but its not working the way i would like. Im after shaping that has "weights" for classes so that a lower priority class will slow down when a higher class

HTB traffic shaping + squid cache proxy

I have recompiled a 2.4.22 kernel, enabled all QoS support in the kernel config, including HTB. My ADSL bandwidth is 256Kbit/s for download and 64Kbit/s for upload. I use the following HTB+IPTABLES configuration, because I want to reduce bandwith for

Relation to DMTF's CIM
I was wondering how Puppet relates to the DMTF''s CIM. AFAICT there is a clear connection between the two, but I see very little discussion on the topic on the list. Thanks, Cameron. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. I'm trying to put an end to the spam at least and the built-in stuff for Evolution isn't working as well as it should I did some Googling on procmail and fetchmail and spamassassin config files and much
