Queues Announce help request.
I am trying to get a queue to do more than just play music and hold calls. Specifically, making some "comforting" voice announcements would be nice. Below is the queues.conf file relevant portions. Member phone number is munged to protect the guilty. We shouldn't need the announcement source info, but I have been trying everything. The problem is with the member busy, we get no

SDMI takes break on portable players...
OK, this news isn't specifically Vorbis related but it is interesting since SDMI players were supposed to play only "authorized" content (SDMI phase 2). ------------------ Los Angeles Times Saturday, May 19, 2001 Initiative to Bar Pirated Music on Portable Players Takes Break Technology: Coalition fails to reach a consensus on method for detecting unauthorized copies of songs.

AGI and Music on hold
Hi, Happy Thanksgiving to those of us in the USA... Been trying to debug an AGI (in C) on 1.4.26.2. I blind transfer a call to this snippet of dialplan: exten => 999900,1,DeadAGI(pq.agi,999950) pq.agi then plays a prompt (which I hear just fine): [Nov 26 02:42:47] VERBOSE[28721] logger.c: -- Launched AGI Script /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/pq.agi [Nov 26 02:42:47] VERBOSE[28721]

[OT] Online music database
I'd search freshmeat/sourceforge/cpan before doing anything... there might already be a library or package for general-purpose web-grepping.. If not you can probably use a "HTML to ascii" converter (or some Perl/awk tag strip construct) which will reduce fluff in the pages. I find it easier to throw away data I know I _don't_ want first (though, if I knew regular expressions

I don't care what it is, only it musn't suck and be somewhat suitable for general audience. RMS's speeches simply don't cut :-) So far all music I found on

Local music on hold -- mohinterpret=passthrough assymetrical ?
Hi list, I'm planning and testing a distributed asterisk deployment throughout several sites; each will be connected to the PSTN and all of them among themselves via IAX trunks. Phones will be SIP. I guess I already "solved" (worked-around, actually) asterisk's codec negotiation limitations regarding local G.711 utilization vs. remote G.729 while minimizing
