Thank you: Wiki data for adding 3rd party repository, ProtectBase and Priorities
This is a public thank you, to whoever wrote the Wiki's for adding 3rd
party repositories, ProtectBase and Priorities. Clear, excellent, step
by step instructions. I did this late last night and I missed the thing
that Priorities is the recommended plugin, so I will change to that,
from ProtectBase. :-) Lanny

OT: Suggestions for database for physicians patient records?
This is very OT. If list readers can point me in the right direction, to
other mailing lists, or web sites for recommended databases, that will
be much appreciated!
My wife's doctor wants to move records, for approximately 6000 patients
(over a 12 year period), from paper (18th century) to a database (20th
century). The data entry will be a PITA, for his secretaries, regardless

Automount configuration problem
I have a simple automount configuration problem. I've done two similar,
clean, Custom installations of CentOS 5.0, on two similar, but not
identical boxes. On my box, automount is working perfectly. On my
daughter's box, it's not working. If I put the FC6 DVD into the drive in
my box, I can see the contents of the DVD, without any problem. If I
cat /etc/mtab in my box, I see this line:

SELinux question - to fix bug in Webmin
I found a bug in Webmin when using Webmin with SELinux in Permissive
Mode. The author of Webmin, asked me, in their bug tracker on

KStars on CentOS 4.4?
Is there an RPM for this? I think it's in the kdeedu package on the FC6
DVD. My wife is an amateur astronomer and she uses this excellent
program. If upstream isn't including it, can I get it and not break my
CentOS 4.4 system? (Also, I'd like to migrate her and my daughter to
CentOS). TIA, Lanny

centos wiki strangeness.
In preparing to answer a question about some yum undesired behavior, I wanted to reference fastest mirror info, but when I went to
https://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/FastestMirror
I find all the text has been squished to the right hand side of the page and made 1 word wide all the way down.
The https://wiki.centos.org/FrontPage looks similar but perhaps it is a little better?
Or is

wiki contribution
Hi,
I wanted to add a few notes in the wiki on the fastestmirror plugin on how
you can add exclude info in the fastestmirror.conf file.
This became important because amazingly ucalgary.ca shows up as a
fastestmirror for servers I have in both Nevada and New York. However, the
mirror is horribly slow for actual downloads and frequently times out.
So, I just want to add info on how to add the

Wiki contribution
Hi guys,
I want to update and add some content to this page:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/PackageManagement/Spacewalk
The page have instructions for Spacewalk 0.6, but there's a newer
version (0.7) and some changes are needed. I already updated my
spacewalk install and would like to contribute with the wiki page.
More information about spacewalk can be found here:

OT: Video Surveillance SW on CentOS
I suggested to our Homeowners Association that we begin a Private
Forum (phpBB) and web site. That suggestion has been well received and
we will proceed with that.
Now, I have become involved in a much more complex and important
project, which is Video Surveillance, for the entrance to our
subdivision.
I Googled and found two (2) things for Linux that seem to be OK:

Contribute to wiki
Good afternoon,
My username is GrahamWilliamson
I would like to have access to the CentOS wiki. I want to create and
add some initial content to the VoIP SIG.
http://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup has a link to
http://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/Voip however I feel the VoIP
SIG page should actually be
http://wiki.centos.org/SpecialInterestGroup/VoIP.
Also, I'd like to update

Spacewalk howto for CentOS 5
Hi,
I would like to contribute a howto page about the configuration of
Spacewalk for package management under CentOS 5. Spacewalk is the
upstream project for the source of RedHat Network Satellite. It provides
a management interface for software updates across registered servers
and desktops.
Here is were I would like to put this page:

Installing Google's Picasa for Linux on CentOS 5
I downloaded the .rpm file from Google and am trying to install
Picasa for Linux on CentOS 5. I get the below error. Is this because
I'm using SELinux or because of something else? I found a small
Picasa folder in /opt (24 items, 143.7 KB) but it seems to end there.
Picasa is one of the programs my wife uses on Windows. TIA!
