RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Hi List,
I am new at this and trying to set up shorewall.
I was using mnf-en to do it but it was using an old version of shorewall
(shorewall-2.0.8-2mdk) and didn''t have the features I wanted. So I''ve
installed shorewall-2.4.0-1mdk.
Other bits of interest:
iproute2-2.6.10-1mdk
iptables-1.2.9-8mdk
I''m trying to get the providers feature working.

gre/ipsec loadbalancing
Hi, I have the following setup. Two linux systems with two [test] external interfaces encrypted with ipsec [transport].
Two gre tunnels that pass 10.200.0.0/24 and 10.200.1.0/24 network traffic.
Testing the balanced tunnels I would setup iptraf on one and ping from the other. The results would be as expected; traffic would be split between the two interfaces.

Try this on your VPN_office host:
tcpdump -npi any icmp and host 192.168.1.3
In parallel you start a ping from the other network:
ping 192.168.1.1
I assume, that tcpdump will show all packets from

Cannot access other computers on LAN
Hi Lars,
Thanks for the help
** Test 1 **
On VPN_office I use 'tcpdump -npi any icmp and host 192.168.1.3'
When pinging 192.168.1.1 from client 1, with no success, I see no packet
passing.
When pinging 192.168.1.3 from client 1, with success, I see packet passing:

Policy routing question
Hi,
I have a testing multihome setup, with the default gateway being one of
the links and using policy routing to honor requests for a specific
link. Everything works as expected when I request a specific IP to bind
to. But if I request a specific interface things fall apart in ways that
I can not explain:
default gw (WORKS)

ftp port 24562 pasv doesnt work, no logging
Hi,
I have a cisco sdsl modem to connect to internet via eth1 (192.168.1.2)
local is eth0 (192.168.2.254)
default gw is 192.168.1.1
the cisco forwards all incoming ports to 192.168.1.2.
I connect from outside on port 24562, login is successfull, the
ftpserver gives back the external Ip of the cisco as pasv IP to the
client (its a setting in the ftpserver). It gives an ip from the pasv
range I

Trouble on Multi Server setup
Hello all,
I''m having some trouble getting backgroundrb set up so that all the
processing happens on a single machine. I have 3 load balanced
machines. Right now, all three run our web application and create
MiddleMan workers to generate a large PDF report.
However, because of the processing power needed to generate the PDFs,
I want to change our setup so that two servers run

DNAT/Redirect Question
Hi all,
I have a group of public IPs 80.x.x.209-80.x.x.215. My satellite broadband router has .209 and my Fedora Core 2 running Shorewall firewall has one network card with IP .210 and the other with 172.16.0.1/255.255.0.0. All network PCs have a 172.16.x.x private address.
I am new to shorewall and fedora/linux. I would like requests to public IP 80.x.x.211 to be redirected to internal IP

Samba AD with multiple DC and multiple NICs
I add some additional information I didn't give in my previous email,
specifically how I tried to force DC1 and DC2 to contact each other only
with their VPN IPs.
I did so using dnsmasq as a DNS proxy.

IP NIC2: 172.20.0.1

Packet Level Load Balance inbound/outbound success with nth and route
First of all, I''d like to thank Andy Furniss for his direction and for
helping me get a working example up and running.
For the following set up to work, you will need a linux computer at
the ISP (server), a linux computer at the client location (client),
and some a public range of IP''s you plan to send down to your client.
(as this configuration involves patching the linux
