Outgoing calls for a fancy address book app
Hi ! I'd like to connect phpgroupware to asterisk: when a user click on a phone number, his phone rings and he gets connected to the number he just clicked. I've tried by putting various files in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing, without results (we are using SIP phones + CAPI channels). Is there a way to do that ? (If it's impossible (something impossible in *, LOL ?!?) I will create

Playing MP3's in Asterisk
Hi, Does anyone know what code (if any) format_mp3 uses? I am trying to play a MP3 (e.g. https://mp3.sermonaudio.com/16kbps/6111963257014/6111963257014.mp3) using PlayBack. Iget the famous "mp3/interface.c: Junk at the beginning of frame 49443304" and then right away it exits the PlayBack Application. I know I can use ffmpeg on the fly. I am currently getting the URL to play via an API

Cisco 7912 speed dials
Hi ! We have Cisco 7912 phones, and the doc says that I can "create up to four speed dial buttons on my phone using the Cisco CallManager". Does anyone knows which protocol is used to configure speed dials (Is it documented somewhere) ? Did someone tried to reverse engineer the protocol ? It would be cool, not having to pay $15000 just for configuring speed dials on those phones ;-D

PXE: media test failure
Hi ! I'm using PXE to boot a Linux on a DLink DFE-530TX card. Everything worked well until I installed a Windows98 on it (please, foregive me...). Since the Windows drivers for that NIC were installed, I 'm unable to boot PXE, and I get the error: PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable Any clue on how to make PXE work as before ? Cheers, -- Ludovic DROLEZ

802.1q on gentoo
Hi, I have a box with XEN enabled. Specs : Gentoo 10.0 AMD64 XEN 4.0.0 The server is connected on our network through two physicals NIC. Actually, I''m using a VLAN on each NIC and bridge the domU in it. But now I must create an additional domU which should be in an different VLAN. The best solution is to set a trunk on the switch and use 802.1q directly on the dom0. I found this site

Fw: wondershaper kills eth0 :(
Hi, When i do ''wshaper start'' the interface i have defined stops routing traffic for some reason. It resumes routing when i do ''wshaper stop''. I''m using debian stable (3.0 woody) with debian''s default 2.4.18-686 kernel. When I run the script I get no errors, and when I do a ''status'', everything looks correct. Can ANYONE

wondershaper query
Hello, I am trying wondershaper-1.1a on a friend''s pppoe connection on her Linux box. There are a few things I don''t understand. 1. She has pppoe connection so should DEV=eth0 or DEV=ppp0 ? 2. Her ISP just says on her payment bill that the speed is 128kbps, but doesn''t mention any downlink/uplink speed, so in that case what should be, DOWNLINK= and UPLINK= ? 3. She

complete linux and shaping newbie needs help
Hi there good people, I''m a newbie in what concerns running Linux on machines other than desktops, so I need help from all you gurus out there :-) I have Linux installed on an old computer (Winchip C6, Pentium clone), acting as a router/firewall for two other computers. Both these machines are connected to the firewall via a dedicated ethernet card each, on different subnets,

Hi, all I''ve got problems with tc qdisc ingress. I''m using vanillia kernel 2.6.14.4 patched with http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/routes-2.6.14-12.diff, and iproute2-2.6.14-051107. i am using ingress to limit incoming traffic : (DEV is eth1 / DOWNLINK is 7700) # attach ingress policer: tc qdisc add dev $DEV handle ffff: ingress # filter *everything* to it (0.0.0.0/0), drop everything

Ingress Shaping using IMQ
Hi Guys, Here is a question that is probably of concern to many of us. I am under pressure to provide some solution for ingress traffic shaping. What my customer demands is to divide the downstream (ingress) of an ADSL lines to two classes of traffic - important traffic and non important downloads. He has a very reasonable requirement: he wants a guarantee of at least 1000kbps at all times for

ingress policy filter for variable rate
Hi, I have a question about policy filters. All I want is incoming traffic being restricted to a specific rate. At the moment, I get way lower rates than specified. So far, I did use a filter much like Wondershaper does: tc filter add dev $DEV parent ffff: protocol ip prio 50 \ u32 match ip src 0.0.0.0/0 \ police rate ${DOWNLINK}kbit burst 10k drop flowid :1

wondershaper
Hi, I just installed wondershapper 1.1a on my ipcop firewall box. I have roadrunner cable with a ftp server setup. My download speed is 2mbit (I get 225 KBytes) and my upload is 384kbit (I send at 43 KBytes). What should the settings in wshaper? I can ping yahoo.com at 90msec with little traffic.....and at around 220msec with full upload traffic. Mark

Prioritizing traffic
I don''t know whether this is the right place to ask, but kindly point me to an FM that I can R if it isn''t. My wife is creating lots of Kazaa traffic, and I am using rsync to create a full mirror of Red Hat''s FTP site, Aurora Linux FTP site, the LDP site, and some other stuff. Clearly, when one is moving well over 100GB over a 128 Kbps link, this is going to take a

This simple ingress script blocks my traffic
Hi ! I have a 56k modem internet connection and I want to control the BW of ftp downloads. But when I run the following script, my downloads are simply stopped (and they resume if I clear the rules): ----------------- #!/bin/sh DEV=ppp0 DOWNLINK=14kbit /sbin/ipchains -A input -i $DEV -p tcp -s 0/0 ftp-data -m 1 tc qdisc del dev $DEV root 2> /dev/null > /dev/null tc qdisc del dev $DEV

how flexible is ingress traffic policing to bandwidth limit?
[I sent this earlier but I guess the list is subscriber-only?] I just set up wondershaper, it has a simple filter on the downstream direction to limit the bandwidth usage: tc qdisc add dev $DEV handle ffff: ingress tc filter add dev $DEV parent ffff: protocol ip prio 50 u32 match ip src \ 0.0.0.0/0 police rate ${DOWNLINK}kbit burst 10k drop flowid :1 This is effective but is there any way to

Wondershaper - question
Hi, I have a question conercing wondershaper. I''m using the Clarkconnect linux distribution for my linux router and I tried to use wondershaper. On start up of wshaper, there are no errors or any other problems but I''m not sure if it''s running correctly. Only one qdisc / one class is used and when I start an uplink ftp transfer, my ping time is growing up to 1700ms - I
