CentOS 5 + Quagga + SELinux
Hello All, Does anyone happen to be running Quagga on CentOS 5 with SELinux in enforcing mode? Have you had to create SELinux policies or did it "just work" out of the box? (I'll get around to building this out on CentOS 6 as well.) I'm simply trying to write my config (for the zebra daemon) and it can't be written... Looks like this bug from Fedora 8 in 2008 [0] remains

RIPd not announcing routes (CentOS 5.4)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list, yesterday I sent this eMail to quagga mailing list, however I didn't receive an answer yet. Unfortunately, I really need this stuff running or have to switch to another strategy achieving the goals. Maybe one of you has some experience on this topic and can shed some light on it -- I really appreciate it. -

Bug#441249: xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae: "Problems using XEN when Quagga is running"
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae Version: 3.0.3-0-2 Severity: normal If quagga is running, and I start & stop a domain, the VIF interface doesn't go down properly (in addition to other problems). Here's what I do: 1. Boot the computer. By default, quagga is running (zebra + ospfd). 2. xm create test7.cfg, wait until the domU starts. 3. xm shutdown test7, wait until the domU

Reply to ICMP echo request (type 8) on different (ethernet) interface
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list, I have a weird (?) problem here on a setup running CentOS 5.3 x86_64 (and OpenVZ, and some home-brew L2TP daemons, RIPd, BGPd, etc). There's a (VE in OpenVZ speak) virtual machine that has two ethernet interfaces, seen as eth0 and eth1, respectively. Those live in VLANs, but it's not important here. The thing is that on eth1 the

Multicast packages dropped
Hi, I have recently updated one of my systems from CentOs 6.4 to CentOS 6.5. This systems is used as a RIPv2 routing server with quagga which is the termination point of some GRE tunnels. While running CentOS 6.4 I see the multicast packages arriving at the eth0 and the GRE tunnel interface. While running under CentOs 6.5 I can see the multicast packages arriving at the eth0 but not on the GRE

Shorewall and multicast
Hi, all! Can I enable multicasting via shorewall? I have router with Gentoo Linux (one interface to ISP, one with alises - to local network). Shorewall work perfect! But now I need setup Quagga (zebra) for dynamic routing between one more router via another provider. All routers daemons (zebra, ripd, ospf) used multicasting. In my configuration already enabled allowBcast and etc.

Bug#441249: Bug#441249: xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae: "Problems using XEN when Quagga is running"
Hi, > Can you manually do on the xen interfaces what the scripts would? How about > doing it on some other interface configured in a similar way? Toying with the vif-route script, I might have found a workaround for this issue. If I disable the ifconfig and ip route commands from vif-route script, and bring up vif interface by hand later on, everything seems to work. In other works,

Correct way to use quagga and shorewall
Hi, I''ve setup quagga on a shorewall firewall server. The only purpose for this is to use BGP to connect to a "peering platform" supplied by our data centre supplier. There are some very large ISP''s (and other various providers including google) on this peering platform and connecting to it will speed up access to/from our services and hosted servers. The physical

Routing and Redundancy Delima
My setup: LAN A | |-- Wireless-r1 --| |-- Wireless-r2 --| ..................| .................LAN B LAN A is my primary (external) LAN. LAN B is my wireless LAN. LAN A does iBGP and OSPF routing. Each wireless router does the following: 2 Bridged Ethernet + STP connections to LAN A 2 Bridged Ethernet + STP connections to LAN B 2 VLANs on LAN A 5 VLANs on LAN B UCARP on each wireless

Coexistence of Dynamic and Static routing
List members; I have been reading the digest for some time now and I would like to ask some conceptual questions. I am a telecommunications systems designer and not a software guy, but I have tried and used a number of the tools availabel in the LARTC and Iptables, and many of the other great things included in Linux. We are designing commercial products and I don''t want to ask my

tc + zebra/quagga
I have some problem with traffic shaping on debian testing. I actually posted a full config on the list a while ago but didn''t get any answers. The problem is that traffic doesn''t get into the user classes (~150) when I associate a class with a qdisc. I tried sfq, fifo but none works. If I dont''t associate a qdisc with a class classification occurs well.

unknown qdisc "dsmark"
hi, I''m a beginner with qdiscs and other lartc stuff. After reading the howto and other related documents (i.e. some papers about linux and diffserv), I decided to start with some test. I found some example script to implement simple diffserv using dsmark, but, just after the first command: tc qdisc add dev eth1 handle 1:0 root dsmark indices 64 set_tc_index the system answered:

BGP + shorewall on multiISP env.
Hi list, My network was assigned a private AS and my ISP(4) urged me to use BGP ! My Other 3 providers on my Shorewall BOX are typical aDSL lines while the 4th is an 1G optical uplink with 64 addresses. Currently I am in a balance, track mode in shorewall ISP setup.. After I installed - configured and started zebra + bgp my static routing tables got filled with about 850 static routes to
