HTB/IMQ with GRE bug
Hi Devik/Patrik, In setting up IMQ/HTB with a GRE Tunnel I''m constantly getting kernel errors: [root@linux /root]# dmesg ... ... ... NET: XXX messages suppressed. Dead loop on virtual device gre1, fix it urgently! ... ... ... This I get only if I''m going to start cross device b/w control. Creating a contended section of bandwidth with HTB and IMQ
Hi All, I''m trying to create a contended section of bandwidth using IMQ. I have the imq0 device up and running, with traffic passing through it. Firstly, I need to throttle the entire device imq0 to 2mbit/s. I would then like to add throttle rules for individual IP addresses, allowing them to pass up to 512kbit/s each, as long as imq0 has not reached its 2mbit/s. The configuration

Please help - totally confused (NAT + FWMARK + IMQ + HTB)
Hello, I''m trying to get my shaper to work, but have only a partial success. Can someone help me with that. My setup unfortunately is not so trivial, but I think some people could have similar one... 1. There is a router connected to the internet line via interface eth0 2. There are users connected to the router via two interfaces : eth1 and wlan0 3. All users are assigned private IP

mldonkey/edonkey - servers not connected
Hi, I''m running mldonkey on same box as shorewall. I follow this http://mldonkey.sourceforge.net/ShorewallConfiguration to open ports for edonkey protocol I add in /etc/shorewall/rules: # eDonkey 2000 ACCEPT net $FW tcp 4662 ACCEPT net $FW udp 4666 but I could not connect to any edonkey server. I check logs and notice that udp traffic on port 4666 is still dropped. Jul 8 22:35:57

imap problems
Hi, I''m really new to traffic shaping and try to implement the wshaper.htb script. I have a linux box that serves as vdr, mldonkey, samba, apache and mailserver (imap), connected to my LAN with 100mbit. I''m connected to the inet via adsl with a hardware router/firewall, got 384k downlink 64k uplink. When I have mldonkey running, imap (via Outlook) gets *very* slow (mails with

Help with HTB rules (experiencing latency)
Hello, I''m using these rules (attached) to control traffic going out from ip 192.168.0.100 which is acting as a p2p server, but when I have these rules on and mldonkey running I experience some latency in web pages, which Iwould like to eliminate. I''ve read that this is where the burst and cburst (even quantum) parameters are useful, but I still can''t understand

HTB: Problem with excess bandwidth distribution
Hello, I have a serious problem with HTB which I wasn''t able to solve myself. I run a masquerading router with ppp0 as interface to the Internet. Three clients need to share a downstream of 1 MBit, which I want to divide with tc. When I see a packet being forwarded to one of these clients, I give it the appropriate unique mark: iptables -t mangle -A FORWARD -d 192.168.34.141 -j MARK

Is this

NEWBIE: DNAT Prob
Hi gang, I''ve got a problem with shorewall, it keeps dropping packets when it should be DNATing them. I want all connections on a tcp port 4662 to be forwarded to a machine on my network (192.168.0.5) - the port is used for mldonkey (P2P app). It seems to be partially working - loads of packets are being DNAT''ed but some are not - I cant figure out why! The firewall
