Some Users not shown and profiles won't work
Hi I'm running samba 3.0 with ldap backand and Suse 8.2. If I want to edit ACLs from windows an a samba-share not all users are shown. "holger" i shown but "hein" isn't shown. Andy idea why? It's very strange because both can login the domain. I had to set attribute sambaProfilePath for user "hein" to the sambe value defined in smb.conf. I won't add

patch for TIS (skey/opie) *and* passwd auth via PAM
Hello, appended is a patch that makes it possible to use PAM both for password authentication and TIS (i.e. s/key or opie or any other interactive challenge/response scheme). I have developed this starting from the patch at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/db/61/61906.html on Debian with openssh-2.1.1p4-3. After configuring ssh with --with-pam-tis, there are two PAM services, "sshd" and

ImapTest utility not compiling
* Found my error. I moved the dovecot source code after compiling it. Didn?t realize there were embedded/absolute URLS within the dovecot source tree. All I needed to do was make clean && make dovecot, then imaptest compiled no problem. Dovecot very slow on a mailbox with > 700 IMAP Folders
Hello, I am using Dovecot 1.2.9 on a 32bit on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS. We got one user who uses folders in an "exessive" way. He has got 704 subscribed folders. That means about nearly 3000 folders on the filesystem. Since ~ a week the user couldn't work because of timeouts when connecting to Dovecot (IMAP). Thunderbird doesn't show any folders - timeout - the webmail System

PLS regression on near infrared (NIR) spectra data
Dear collegues, I´ ve worked with near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy to assess chemical, physical, mechanical and anatomical properties of wood. I use "The Unscrambler" software to correlate the matrix of dependent variables (Y) with the matrix of spectral data (X) and I would like to migrate to R. The matrix of spectral variables is very large (2345 columns and n lines, where n =

Fwd: How to set degrees of freedom in cor.test?
You could calculate the confidence interval of the correlation at your desired df: http://davidmlane.com/hyperstat/B8544.html The below code takes as arguments the observed correlation, N, and alpha, calculates the confidence interval and checks whether this includes 0. cor.test2=function(r,n,a=.05){ phi=function(x){ log((1+x)/(1-x))/2 } inv.phi=function(x){

Question: concatenating lists
Dear R users, I have the following problem. I have a number of lists with identical structure. Each component is a vector, matrix or array, but components of different lists may be of different size. How do I combine the lists to get a new list such that each component of this list contains the components of the individual lists? An example may explain most clearly what I need. Suppose I have

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] Commit message policy?
That seems mostly reasonable. I'd try to make it more concise, though. The coding standards and developer policy docs should be short. +Commit message +-------------- + +Although we don't enforce the format of commit messages, there are general +guidelines that will help review, search in logs, email formatting and so on. +Mostly, the rules that apply are similar to other git

Lattice: merged strips?
Hi all, By default a call to xyplot from the Lattice package when using 2 factors [eg xyplot( dv~iv | XY * AB ) ] yields the following shingle structure: |_A_|_A_|_B_|_B_| |_X_|_Y_|_X_|_Y_| However, I'm wondering if it is possible to merge the upper shingle within levels of that factor, as in: |___A___|___B___| |_X_|_Y_|_X_|_Y_| Mike -- Mike Lawrence Graduate Student, Department of

How to use S-Plus functions in R
Hi I am very new to R. I used to work in S-Plus a lot but that was years ago. I wrote a large number of functions that I now want to view and edit in R. I know I have to tell R where the functions are but I have no idea how. The functions are stored on my laptop's c-drive. I tried everything I could find e.g. library(myfilepath), source(myfilepath) etc. but nothing seems to work. Hein

aov error with large data set
I'm looking to analyze a large data set: a within-Ss 2*2*1500 design with 20 Ss. However, aov() gives me an error, reproducible as follows: id = factor(1:20) a = factor(1:2) b = factor(1:2) d = factor(1:1500) temp = expand.grid(id=id, a=a, b=b, d=d) temp$y = rnorm(length(temp[, 1])) #generate some random DV data this_aov = aov( y~a*b*d+Error(id/(a*b*d)) , data=temp ) While yields the
