A rails sitemap plugin
Hi, guys:
I wrote a sitemap plugin for rails yesterday. This plugin will
generate the public/sitemap.xml from config/sitemap.rb whose format is
very familiar to config/routes.rb.
I think it is very helpful if you have a website written by rails and
want it to be crawled by spiders such as google, yahoo and baidu.
The home page of the plugin is http://github.com/flyerhzm/sitemap/tree/master

Rails developers always write code fast, but sometimes they leave some
security issues in their rails project. Do you still remember mass
assignment issues from github? Using

Ask for best practices on rails-bestpractices.com
Hi
http://rails-bestpractices.com added a new feature, asking for best
practices, it allows users to ask for a best practice about
any rails related work, such as "How to detect N+1 queries?" and "How to
upload a large file with progress bar?". Then everyone can post your answer

Web crawler - spider and Amazon Web Servces (AWS)
I need to create a web crawler and the closest thing to a tutorial
I''ve found so far is this article:
http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=1182
wich I think I found via RubyInside or some blog.
It uses some of Amazone Web Services, mainly SQS, but this would be my
first time outsourcing a process to a third party and I would like to

RDig - ferret-based website crawler/indexer
Hi!
RDig is a small tool to build a Ferret index for the contents of a
website or intranet. It contains a simple HTTP crawler and some support
for extracting textual content from the fetched pages.
I built this to implement a site-wide search for a recent project
that combined a Rails application with lots of static html files
generated by a CMS.
Any feedback is very welcome!

I wish to develop a web crawler in R. I have been using the functionalities

I wish to know the frequency of a word in the document. I am only acquainted

omega crawler: ht://dig or wget?
At wiki page: http://wiki.xapian.org/Omega
I added a comment that ht://Dig looks like dead.
Does anybody really use it?
>From brief glance at docs I had a feeling it is not easy to configure.
Maybe better crawler is GNU wget? Mature, stable, maintained?

scope of plugns
After more than one hour of countless tries, I ask myself a simple question :
On what items are plugins supposed to execute ?
I''ve tried to create a filelist plugin which, for a page, displays all
file in the same directory (a rather old school view of website, where
each directory contains an entry point).
But, whatever I try, my plugin code is never invoked, and my page
content is never
