Rails 3.1, stylesheet assets not being reloaded correctly?
Hi, I''m working on a Rails 3.1 project at the moment and having a hard time getting the stylesheets properly loaded. My application.css.scss looks like this: /* * This is a manifest file that''ll automatically include all the stylesheets available in this directory * and any sub-directories. You''re free to add application-wide styles to this file and they''ll

Automatic asset paths prevent logical asset organization
In 2fe70c1 (last year), rails changed from a static list of assets.paths to automatically register any path under assets/*. (This was not reflected in Rails Guides so I pushed an update to docrails.) However, in my opinion, these automatic asset paths create confusion. The result is that the first-level directories under `(app|lib|vendor)/assets` get swallowed and if I put assets into a

Making Mongrel/WEBRick serve static assets with future expires header
I''m creating a Rails application which will be deployed to desktop machines, running both the webserver and the browser (it''s a test- taking application which needs to be able to run without an internet connection). For this reason, I''ll be running Mongrel or WEBRick, without an Apache/ Nginx in front of it as you would normally do. The browser will access the Mongrel

Assets not loading in production
Hello, (Rails 4, Ruby 2) I am trying to deploy my first rails app in a production environment, but cannot get the assets to load. The site is hosted on Webfaction, they advise to create a "static app" to serve the assets which I have done. But I don''t understand how my rails app then knows about the static app. At the moment, in production inside the head it prints out...

Make Asset Pipeline compatible with Chrome DevTools Autosave
https://github.com/NV/chrome-devtools-autosave doesn’t play nice with Asset Pipeline. https://github.com/NV/chrome-devtools-autosave/issues/27 The culprit of the problem is in the asset’s URLs. I cannot decipher a file path by its URL. For instance, /assets/main.css?body=1 could be either app/assets/stylesheets/main.css, lib/assets/stylesheets/main.css or vendor/stylesheets/main.css. To fix

Asset Pipeline doubles my CSS refs?
Hi, I''m trying to properly reference a .css file. Unfortunately the asset pipeline is doubling my css references which disables my code. What gets rendered is: <link href="/assets/sincoraish-screen.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="/assets/sincoraish-print.css" media="print"

Best practice: installing plugin assets in rake task or install.rb?
I noticed that a few plugins come with rake tasks to install additional assets. In Rails 1.1.4 there''s a hook file, install.rb, that is run when after the plugin has been installed (edge Rails has uninstall.rb, too). Wouldn''t it be nicer to use this (these) hooks to install (remove) plugin specific files automatically? Preferrably existing (different) files are overwritten

Does Ruby 1.9.2 include ftools?
If I run irb, and do this: require ''ftools'' The response is: LoadError: no such file to load -- ftools I see around that 1.9.1 did not include ftools but no mention of 1.9.2. Looking at the Ruby docs (http://www.ruby-doc.org/stdlib/), ftools is still there. Any ideas? Thanks, David -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on

Asset Pipeline (Rails 3.1.0.rc4)
Hey all, I''ve got an issue trying to figure out this asset pipeline stuff... So in my application layout, I have: <%= stylesheet_link_tag "application" %> which translates the URL to /assets/application.css in the HTML output. The problem is that it can never find it -- I can see the file under app/assets/stylesheets/application.css . I''ve tried moving it

3.1 asset pipeline + Capistrano troubles
Hello, I''m having a bit of trouble with the asset pipeline and, I think, Capistrano. Rails 3.1, SASS, @import, and directories
So, here''s the problem: @import isn''t liking other directories. PCA for assets based household income analysis (" hetcor" and "princomp")
I am doing Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on assets data for household income prediction. The problem is that the assets data are rank ordered (usually binary ... possess car/don't possess car), so the normal correlation is inappropriate for the calculation of the PCA. Instead one has to use the polychoric correlation coefficient. It uses the "random.polychor.pa" package.
