Openoffice 2.3 on centos 5 issue
I have just install OOo 2.3 on new centos 5 box. However OO keep open registration wizard everytime launched, even though i already select "i do
not want to register".
I've been playing with "$HOME/.openoffice.org2/" but still no luck. This
problem did not happen on FC6, so i guess its not OOo bug.

OpenOffice 3.3.0 crashing on CentOS 5.5
The last few releases of OpenOffice have gotten very
unstable on my desktop which is a CentOS 5.5 i386 system.
After multiple crashes when doing embedded simple drawings
in OpenOffice writer (circles and lines with connections), I
started using the versions from Sun then Oracle. I am
now using version 3.3: openooffice.org3-3.3.0-9567. I've
lived with this but with version 3.x it has gotten

OpenOffice.org 3.1 installation was corrupted-installed again, nothing in Applications/Office menu
I had a corrupted installation of OpenOffice.org 3.1.
When I used "yum remove openoffice.org-core" the response was "package
openoffice.org-core available but not installed", but then, when I
used "yum install openoffice.org-core there was a long list of
Transaction Check Errors. I then removed
openoffice.org3.1-redhat-menus-noarch which was in the errors.

OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 vs. 2.0.2
Hi,
I recently migrated from Slackware 10.2 to CentOS 4.3, upon advice of fellow
Slacker and CentOS user Daniel de Kok. Been working very intensively for the
last three weeks with it, and I must say: I really like it. This is the Real
Work(tm) Distro I was always looking for!
There's a practical reason for this: beginning on June 1st I will be chief
sysadmin of our village's town hall.

Problems with file locking over gnome-vfs (esp. OpenOffice.org)
Hi.
First of all, I will probably post this question several places, at
least here, on the ubuntu forums, and perhaps OpenOffice forums. It is
a problem that I'm not sure if really is samba related, Openoffice
related or perhaps even OS related. As stated in the heading, it's
about file locking, so many apps come into play.
I work at a school where we teachers use mainly Ubuntu Hardy and

Openoffice.org Gimp
Just wondering, what's the roadmap for OO to be upgraded.
I have version 2.0.4 and official is already in 2.3.x and suppose
in march there's going to be 2.4 version.
As well as Gimp, we using 2.2 and there is 2.4.x
Anyone heard upstream roadmap for upgrading?

Bridging R to OpenOffice
Dear members of the R Development Team,
I am looking for people with a deep understanding of R internals to
assist in bridging R to OpenOffice.
While R is a state of the art statistical environment, less experienced
users often find it difficult to work with R. Therefore, I believe that
a bridge between R and a spreadsheet program will make this transition
less painful. I sincerely believe

Serious bug in OpenOffice.org Calc shipped with CentOS
Hi,
Until now I've been a happy user of CentOS. Everything just works(tm),
and I don't care if application versions are slightly outdated.
Next week I have to give a series of classes for a company that recently
made the switch to Linux. On schedule is a one-week course for Writer
and Calc.
And right now I discover that one crucial function of Calc, "fill
series",

Problem when opening files after installing OpenOffice 3.1 on CentOS 5.4
Hi,
I have installed OpenOffice 3.1 downloaded from the openoffice.org
website on CentOS 5.4 x86_64.
The downloaded file is actually an archive containing RPMs.
I did not use their setup tool but installed directly the RPMs I was
interested in via 'yum localinstall' (my idea is in the future to put
them on a custom yum repository, so that they can be managed via
regular yum install /

(OT) OpenOffice.org calc chart strangeness.
I am attempting to create a simple line chart graphing three columns from a
soffice-calc spreadsheet. I expect it to take the leftmost column as the
X-Axis, plotting the others on the Y-Axis, but it always creates an X-Axis
of the row number in the columns, and the first column amongst the data.
I have tried this on OpenOffice.org 3.2.0, NeoOffice(R) 3.0.2 Patch 2,
iWork Pages, and Excel 12.2.4

Integrating R in OpenOffice
Hi All,
A group of about 3-4 of us are looking into the possibility of incorporating R
into OpenOffice's (OO) spreadsheet component (sc) . We wish to use OO's nice
ODBC ability to query a postgresql-based gene expression database thus
populating an OO sc and then use Bioconductor via R to analyse user-selected
parts of this spreadsheet.
We've looked at and compiled and used

[OT] (slightly) - OpenOffice Calc and text files
Hello all,
I had a very strange looking problem that turned out to be due to unexpected (by me at least) format changes to one of my data files. We have a small lab study in which each run is represented by a row in a tab-delimited file; each row identifies a repetition of the experiment and associates it with some subjective measurements and times from our notes that get used to index another

OpenOffice or LibreOffice?
Given that the Document Foundation has now split away from Oracle to
continue the development of an independent office suite, do we have
any idea which was CentOS and Red Hat are planning to go in this area
- OpenOffice or LibreOffice?
I know that LibreOffice is not production ready yet - they only have
their first beta available, but it's just a matter of (likely a short)
time before the

Low-memory Centos5?
Good morning,
I've inherited an old laptop from my wife that I'd like to
use when I travel (it's fairly small with a 12" screen). The
bad part is that it is maxed out on memory with 384MB.
Has anyone played with using Centos5 on systems with
little memory? Ideally, I don't need too much - Firefox,
Openoffice, a little Perl/Python/C here and there. I was
thinking about using

[data$.height], [data$.weight],
[label$.label]

OpenOffice Calc ODBC equivalent
Hi R users:
I am using RODBC to create some new ".xls" files each with
several sheets (about 100) with sqlSave() from a data.frame
inside R without any problem, but on windows XP platform.
I would like to know if it is posible to make a similar
solution on linux with openoffice?
RODBC work only (for the moment) with ".xls" on windows,
via the ODBC driver.
Is it posible to
