Iproute2 ''Makefile options'' in 2.5.59
Dear all, Is iproute2 necessary for IPv6 to work properly on 2.5.59 kernel? I''ve tried all combinations in the makefile for ADDLIB and LDLIBS but still get the following errors: I''ve applied the following patches to my kernel patch-o-matic-20020825 and Lksctp-2_5_59-0_6_5.patch I''ve also installed iptables-1.2.7a. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ipac/iptables + mrtg accounting
i''ve installed mrtg to make graphics of the trafic from the interfece throw the snmpd, and the same with ipac witch put iptables accounting rules colect them and store, and gets the output, but the "problem" is that ipac graphics are 3 times smaller that the snmpd. Why??? i did catch all the trafic with ipac so no problem here, and i know that ipac/iptables is at level 3, and

Problems patching kernel 2.4.19-r9
A question about the tc binary and diff file that are included in htb3.6-020525.tgz. I can''t seem to patch tc in the source tree, and that has made me hesitate to alternatively substitute the native /usr/sbin/tc for the binary supplied with the patch materials. I''m running kernel 2.4.19-r9, and when I run xingu:/usr/src/linux #patch -p1 --dry-run < ../htb3.6.tc.diff the

[ANNOUCE] iproute2 update
A new version of the iproute2 utilities is available to handle the new extensions for 2.6.7. * Based on the last known good version of iproute2 from Alexy * Included most of the vendor patches (except for the stupid ones). * Got rid of lots of the glibc workarounds, I intend this to build and run on 2.6 (and 2.4) only. * Fixed some parsing and formatting bugs. * Added gigabit as a rate.

Hi all How to add a static route to a hostname with iproute2? I tried: ip route add linux.com via 192.168.1.1 I got the following reply: Error: an inet prefix is expected rather than "linux.com". With "route command" I do not have problems route add -host linux.com gw 200.214.148.140 As the iproute2 is the standard in the current linus distros, I would like to know if is

Don''t know how to compile tc
I am trying to build iproute2-2.4.7-20010824 from source on a 2.4.24 kernel. I have played a bit with ADDLIB and LDLIBS variables but I always get errors so I suppose it''s best if instead of playing I try to understand what does the following mean (from the README file): ADDLIB should contain inet_* functions, if your libc contains obsolete resolver library (<4.9.4) and you have no

iproute create policy routes after reboot
Which files do I need to edit in order to initialize a route after a reboot. I have a 802.1q tagged VLAN interface which I need to create a rule, and a route for. I see on my CentOs 4.2 box that in /etc/iproute2 there are the following files. I realize that I can add my tables to /etc/iproute2/rt_tables, but when I want to create a rule I am not sure where to put the information for the

iproute and shorewall present but no install.
Hello, I have had a lot of success installing/configuring shorewall on my own system using webmin. Recently, I have been contracted to do some remote admin on a isp co-lo box all through a webmin server index connection from my locally running webmin server connected to the remote server. I was able to download shorewall from: http://shorewall.infohiiway.com/pub/shorewall/LATEST.rpm but when

iproute question
Hello all, My company is sharing it''s internet access with a neighbor and the neighbor in question was eating our bandwidth (both in upload and download) most of the time. I finally set up a linux router to limit the incoming/outgoing bandwidth to his network by adding a tbf on eth0 interface and eth1 interface of the router (neighbor is behind eth1 and we are in-between him and the

HTB - problem with one thread
Hello, Besides a very good functionality, I have a small, yet stressing, problem. Let''s say I have a bandwidth of N bits. I have X clients, everyone with his fixed bandwidth. I create htb qdsics for each client. Each leaf has sfq queueing discipline. A sample config would be like this : tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:2 classid 1:346 htb rate 32Kbit ceil 32Kbit burst 4k

Shorewall rpm failed dependency: iproute (ip is working)
Hello Shorewall gurus, as outlined on the shorewall site I have done the following after failure to install shorewall via the rpm: I have read all of the FAQ. I have read the quickstart guide with particular attention directed at the Mandrake solution. I have searched the mailing list archives (all old replies). I have studied the documentation index. I have previous experience using shorewall
