Download an Image using Net::HTTP
Hi, I need to download an image, and I''ve mucked about with Net::HTTP resp = Net::HTTP.get_response(''www.mydomain.com'', ''/test.jpg'') f = File.new("test.jpg","w") f.write(response.body) And various other combinations using HTTP.get etc. Anyway, I get an image, but it looks very psychedelic. This is obviously not the correct way.

Resolv.conf with multiple adaptors on multiple networks
Hi All, I did a clean install of CentOS 5.3 yesterday. During setup I activated both adapters on startup. etho is my public IP and eth1 is my private/internal IP. It did not let me specify nameservers though. So I know this is resolv.conf. I know I put in: nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx But how do I put in nameservers for specific networks? Example, I want my

Using TBF to throttle a PC to 5kbps
Hi Everyone, This is a simple question but I don''t understand why the below tbf is not working as expected by throttling traffic to 5kbps If I throttle a PC''s traffic using the below when traffic exceeds 5kbps packets start getting dropped (as they should) but all traffic gets dropped. not just the bit over 5kbps. dynamic bandwidth allocation
Hi list I was wondering if this is (or could be) possible with rsync. I was wondering if there was a way to change the bandwidth limit (--bwlimit=KBPS) dynamically while rsync is running? Could this be possible maybe with signals like USR1 add 5KBPS and USR2 subtracts 5KBPS? I'm not a programmer, just throwing ideas out there! Felipe

Help with traffic control (HTB ESFQ RED)
Hello, there''s a problem I''ve had for several months now, and I''ve never been able to find an answer to it. I''ll try to explain as quick as possible: I have a server that controlls my home network, it provides internet to them also (NAT) and I would like to provide QoS by shaping traffic. I have a p2p server here (running mldonkey), since only that

HTB shares equally when borrowing enabled :(
Hi, I''m fighting seriously with a most simple HTB setup. I''d like to share the incoming 64kbps into 5 and 59 for two different machines under NAT. HTB seems to hold the required limits when ceil is not set (no borrowing), but when borrowing enabled it seems to share equally rather then keeping the specified ratio. My setup is below. A typical output of "tc -s -d qdisc

Any help will be appreciated here''s my htb conf #!/bin/bash tc qdisc del dev eth1 root tc qdisc add dev eth1 root
