Rake routes & console showing one thing, app doing another
OK, I have a routing problem, that seems to be working in the console, and with rake routes but not in the app. I have people that have nested tasks, like so: ------------------------------- # routes.rb map.resources :people do |person| person.resources :phone_notes person.resources :documents person.resources :tasks, :member => {:complete => :put} end map.resources :tasks, :member

[rspec-rails] Is it bad form to use spec/requests/*_spec.rb for integration tests?
So I wanted to cook up a quick integration test for something, and I''m using rspec. I personally just don''t like Cucumber - just a personal preference, not a slam to the test framework at all - and wanted to stick to just pure rspec. So I dumped a quick spec file in spec/ reqests and ran it, and of course everything works. But is this considered bad form, or a less-than-good

revised rake doc:app executes twice
I''m trying to create a new rake task that will generate slightly customized RDoc documentation for my Rails app. So I''ve created a new task (shown below) in lib/tasks/doc.rake. It generates documentation OK, but it executes the task twice every time I ''rake doc:custom''. namespace :doc do desc "Generate customized documentation for this application"

follow_redirect! aborts rake during integration tests
I''m running integration tests on Rails 1.1/Ruby 1.8.4/Windows XP and have found that any call to follow_redirect! (directly or through [get|post]_via_redirect) causes rake to abort (see command line output below). Has anyone else seen this error, or know what might be the trouble? Thanks! rake features and cucumber feature/name not producing same result
Hi all. If I run rake features or cucumber features/* I get one failing FIT scenario in one of my features. If I then run that feature that contains the FIT table with the failing scenario manually, it passes. I run it again with rake features or cucumber features/* it fails, run individually, it passes. Obviously some state is carrying over between the features. Any idea where i would start

Cucumber/RSpec ::: Capybara? Webrat What am I using??
Hey everybody I''m currently reading through the Pragmatic Programmers RSpec book, and I really enjoy it. But I’m facing some problems because of the fact that the book is already some years old, I guess. I have installed rvm and use Ruby 1.9.3, and I didn’t really get some Rails code examples to work properly, so I tried it with a 1.8.7 installation, but there I had some other problems

url_for and rake routes differences
I am caching and expiring pages/actions/fragments in my code and I''ve come across a really frustrating problem In my routes I have prefixed all controllers with the :locale. This works well for the most part. When I cache a page/fragment it is cached to /en/whatever etc... as expected However when I try to expire the page/fragment the locale is not prefixed to the url but added as an

Scenario: Register new user Given I am on the new user page And I fill in "login" with "fredf"

Cucumber/Webrat/Selenium + SSL?
Has anybody had any luck getting Cucumber, Webrat and Selenium to play nicely together for SSL sites? My test environment: - nginx front-end accepting SSL requests, proxying them to mongrel back-end - mongrel back-end accepting normal HTTP requests - application routes configured with ":protocol => ''https''" so that URLs generated with "_url"
