hostingrails vps?
Anyone here using a VPS from hostingrails.com ? I''m interested in their Ruby on Rails VPS Image "Ready to Roll", for obvious reasons. http://www.hostingrails.com/vps_hosting I''ve searched and all the comments about hostingrails to date have been about their shared hosting, not VPS. Hardware List Draft
Here's a list of non-PC hardware I found that supports Vorbis, with links and short descriptions. It's still kind of rough, and I don't have personal experience with any of these things, though where noted, I have gotten email from the company. This is still just a draft. I've made links, and also left the URLs after the headings so it converts to text well. Following the

Hi All! It''s been a while since I had to ask for help, but I''m back! I''ve finished beta testing my big app and started the transition to production. Everything went fine and the production version was working till I was asked to add another model :-( (Almost a year of beta testing and they only come up with it after moving to production :-D ) I successfully

Rails Hosting: Slicehost vs. Rimuhosting
I know similar topics have been covered before, but I''d like to get a more up-to-date Ruby developer''s opinions. (Please note that I''ve read similar threads in this group and read a lot of hosting comparison sites, even contacted both companies and am still having a hard time making decisions. ) After reading about limitations with shared hosting plans, I decided that

Facebooker interfering with existing application
Hi! I have an existing application, basically a very simple Hobo app. It works... When I install the Facebooker plugin and create the facebooker.yml file (with valid or fake content, doesn''t matter), the original app starts behaving strangely. The controller and view logic keeps working, but several static files stop being served from http://localhost:3000/javascripts and start being

Fwd: Decision Stats
Dear Lists, Here are my latest posts on retrenching and locating facilities better. Do you have anything in academic papers that use data mining- analytics for 1) Better Employee ROI quantitative measurement or cutting costs rationally based on data rather across the board. 2) Locating facilities based on pure quant based approaches than local supply demand conditions. Specific application for

Site5 Hosting: Defautl Root Directory for site
Just signed up for hosting with Site5. So far the service has been great, but one question I had couldn''t be answered by the tech support. I need to change the default root directory of my site from public_html to a rails directory (i.e. foo/app/public). The tech support suggested mod_rewrite. Any other suggestions on ways to accomplish this? Thanks, Nathan -------------- next

New package "frontier" for Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA)
Hi! A few weeks ago, I have uploaded a new R package "frontier" for Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) [1] to CRAN [2]. It includes the FORTRAN code of Tim Coelli's [3] software "Frontier 4.1" [4]. Hence, the R package "frontier" should have the same capabilities as "Frontier 4.1", i.e. Maximum Likelihood Estimation of Stochastic Frontier Production

Public free (libre) mailbox hosting service for everybody!
Hello e-mail software developers and users! I'd like to ask all of you a question. And of course hear relevant opinion. I've been using free software happily for a few years, and I found free/open source alternatives for many popular proprietary tools such as Facebook, Dropbox, Micro$oft Windows & Office, Youtube, Skype and many many others. Some of the alternatives are probably

Version 1.0 of the R package "frontier" released
Dear all I am happy to announce that version 1.0 of the "frontier" package is available on CRAN. The R package "frontier" provides tools for analysing efficiency and productivity using the "stochastic frontier" approach. This R package is based on Tim Coelli's DOS software "FRONTIER 4.1" and has been available on CRAN for almost 5 years now. After many

[LLVMdev] dense maps
My problem was that the constructor for DenseMap has an undocumented constraint. explicit DenseMap(unsigned NumInitBuckets = 0) { init(NumInitBuckets); } if given an explicit argument, requires that the argument be a power of 2. It's checked by an assert in init(), but for some reason my code didn't trip the assertion. Is there a special way I must make to enable asserts? Thanks,

Recommend against Teliax as primary ITSP
I really hate to have to make a post like this, but I feel I have little choice but to relay to the group my experience with Teliax, and explain why I recommend against using them as a primary Voip-> PSTN provider. I hope that a letter like this will inspire companies like Teliax to work harder at customer service, as well as circuit stability. We need more companies that offer the types of
