'deadtime' in Samba 3.0.13
Hi,
I currently have deadtime = 15 in my smb.conf. This featured worked good to
disconnect clients that have been idle for > 15 minutes in the past. With
the 3.0.13 version, it seems to do nothing. As in, it just keeps the user
connected indefinitely.
Here is what I see when no one is currently at the office and everyone is
logged off their computer.
Thanks

Forcing Dial application to skip if called server is unreachable
Is it possible to force the Dial function to skip to the next priority
if it doesn't find the server of the called contact within a few
seconds?
I know I can use:
Dial(Technology/resource[&Tech2/resource2...][|timeout][|options][|URL])
where I can use some short timeout in the "timeout" option, but if I
do so, when some call is well succeeded, it will only ring for that

iproute: add destination route by hostname...
Hi all
How to add a static route to a hostname with iproute2?
I tried:
ip route add linux.com via 192.168.1.1
I got the following reply:
Error: an inet prefix is expected rather than "linux.com".
With "route command" I do not have problems
route add -host linux.com gw 200.214.148.140
As the iproute2 is the standard in the current linus distros, I would like
to know if is

iproute v2.6.15 20060110 kernel 2.4.31-gentoo-r1 ip route show do es not show all routes?
I am using policy based routing and I have 3 route tables setup, ADSLLink1,
ADSLLink2, and ADSLLoadBalanced, "ip route show <table>" will show me the
routes that I have added to the first two, but not from ADSLLoadBalanced, it
will show the last route that was added to the table but no others.
There are approx 16 routes added to the table, I know they are there because
they work,

DNAT''ing and iproute
-- Can someone please give an example or two how one might accomplish
DNAT''ing and ip routes? It appears that the de''DNAT''ing takes
place after the routing decisions so when I use something like ip
rule from incoming-address table out-route it just doesn''t seem to
ever route anything out. DNAT doesn''t seem to keep track of the
incoming

iproute balancing trough virtual NIC
Hi,
i need to setup a equalized route like this:
# ip route add default scope global equalize nexthop via xx.xx.5.254
dev eth1 nexthop via xx.xx.5.254 dev eth2
The problem i''m having is that i need to use virtual interfaces too.
Example (something like that):
ip route add default scope global equalize nexthop via xx.xx.5.254
dev eth1 nexthop via xx.xx.5.254 dev eth2 \
nexthop

A question on the iproute default queues
Hi,
when iproute is installed then the default queue that
it is giving to an interface is pfifo_fast. I would
like to ask whether it is possible to disable this
feature and rather have the kernel give by default to
an interface the queue that it would give if iproute
hadn''t been installed. I want to be able to customize
the queue with tc only when it is necessary. Is this

Route away packets addressed to the machine itself w/iproute and Netfilter
I have a box with only 1 IP (lets say 10.0.0.1) which has an ipip tunnel
to another machine (lets say 10.2.0.1)(different networks) i wan''t all
packets coming to 10.0.0.1 destination port 80 be routed thru the tunnel
device and be answered by 10.2.0.2 (which has an interface configured
with 10.0.0.1).
It works if the incoming ip address is not configured on the receiving
machine

iproute with fwmark
Hi,
not sure if it will work, i''ve 2 leased lines, behind line 1 is a webserver,
this
server should answer all incomming http requests through leased line 1, the
webserver
self parses other webserver, this outbound traffic should go over leased
line 2.
i''ve successfully added fwmark with iproute, but if i set the policy for the
webserver to
use leased line 2 (for parsing other
